I Feel Weak

...because I bought these at Michael's the other day:

Okay, so I don't feel bad about the orange marker. But the punches? Do I need more? Oh, no. I don't NEED more. In fact, I recently had to expand my punch storage to accommodate my growing collection. But I saw THIS CARD on Julie Ebersole's blog and ran right out that very day and bought the grass punch. Then I saw that the heart-and-key punch was ON SALE for about $4. How could I NOT buy it? Seriously.

I knew you would agree. I'm so grateful I can always count on your kind support.

And on that note, I'm getting organized for a fun give-away--a rainbow of a give-away--to celebrate the fact that so many of you visit Simplicity and comment regularly. Y'all give me so much love; it's time to give some back! Deets coming next week.

And on an entirely different note, I will be posting a bunch of SU stamp sets (about 15) for sale soon. I'm making a new CAS card using each set, a fond farewell to much loved sets. If you purchase a set, you also get the matching card for inspiration.

Here's a quick and punchy little card for today. Martha may have spent time in the Big House, but she sure puts out absolutely fabulous punches.

The icing is punched from some sparkly paper I picked up at Hobby Lobby for Christmas ornaments. Love it!

For those who pray: Please keep little Lincoln Hammett and his family in your prayers. Lincoln is a 14-month-old who's been fighting very aggressive leukemia since he was three months old. He's in intensive care right now dealing with a nasty infection following a final, last-chance round of chemo. His CaringBridge website is here.

Supplies
stamps: PTI Birthday Basics
paper: sparkly paper from Hobby Lobby, PTI white, SU close to cocoa
ink: Close to Cocoa

  2. I managed to walk into and out of Michaels yesterday without buying one single thing. Don't worry, though, I made up for it at Hobby Lobby.
Anyway, that cupcake punch is one of my absolute favorites! My cat was just attempting to bat it around, so it must be her fave, too...

  3. Thanks for making me feel better. I went to AC Moore yesterday to pick up white c/s & glue dots because I was out of both. A couple other items snuck in my basket while I was there (like a MS border punch). What's a girl to do? I had a 40% off coupon! And, I've been sooooo good! Now I want that cupcake punch, too. You reminded me of all the glittered c/s I had bought years ago & haven't used. Anyway, I love your style ... always clean, simple & elegant.

  4. As mentioned before, you are such an enabler! Remember that card you did the day before V. D., the one with a border of Marth's punched hearts? I have lusted after that punch ever since.........and bought it at Michael's yesterday with my coupon. I love it..........and I see it would go PERFECTLY with the key-and-heart punch you highlight today. Thank goodness Mike's gives coupons......and thank goodness for YOU for inspiration!

  9. You made me laugh out loud this AM! Maybe that time that Martha spent in the pokey is when she finally had some time to think up all those fabulous punches?? I just bought the Fiskars apron punch the other day - I may be the last person on earth to get it - I made me cranky though cause it is so darn bulky -

Just think, you're lucky you didn't buy more at Michael's...and if you've expanded your punch storage you might as well fill it right?! ;D

  11. Punches make the world go 'round, at least for us crafty people! Thanks for posting a card with that cupcake punch. I bought that punch a while ago, but haven't figured out how to use it. More cupcakes, please! :)

  13. Better to spend the $4 now, instead of spending $5 in gas to go back and get it tomorrow, after lying in bed tonight thinking, "Why on Earth didn't I buy that $4 punch? I MUST have it!"
Besides, I am sure you will do something wonderful with it!

  15. I agree! Think of all the money you saved by buying the heart and key punch NOW rather than later :o)

Love this cupcake punch and the glittery icing!!

  20. Prayers are on their way!

    Love today's card. I don't seem to find much I want at Michaels. But then, I'm told, my store is the smallest in the chain. {{sigh}}

  22. Thanks for the link to caringbridge.org, Susan. I had never heard of it. Praying for strength for Lincoln's family, wondering what it would be like to watch that tiny little life hanging by such a thin thread, sure makes me grateful that "all things work together for good....", no matter the outcome.

  23. Nah, punches are no big deal! I, on the other hand, bought all of the new Distress Ink colors (and the reinkers!) and I have no place to put them. *sigh*
DH would never notice a couple of punches - but a stack of ink will make an impression. :P
Can't wait to see what you'll be putting up for sale (actually, can't wait to see the cards!).

  24. You can never have too many punches especially when they are on sale!
Love the cupcake .... now I am lusting over that punch!!! Good job we don't have Michael's here; would never be able to pass the door with out being tempted to buy.
I just wondered Susan when you sell your stamps will it be US only???

  25. I bought the same punch for the same reason. A Martha Steward punch at 70% off, no internal debate was necessary.
