One-Layer Wednesday Break

For the last six weeks, my ability to comment on OLW submissions has been extremely intermittent. I feel  just terrible that many of you have taken the time to upload cards and link to them without my being able to thank you properly with a comment. Life has gotten extremely busy, I'm not writing as much as I want for my other two blogs, and something has got to give. Actually, several somethings have to give, LOL!

For the next two weeks, we won't have an OLW challenge. In November, I'll try to resume them but instead of weekly, we'll try every two weeks. In the meantime, I hope to be able to go back and comment on the last month's entries and make time to appreciate just how talented and dedicated you all are!

Some time Wednesday I'll try to put the Gratitude Collection InLinkz stuff on the sidebar in place of the OLW challenge. Remember that the Gratitude Collection will continue through the end of November, so you can link any thank you, thankful for you, and Thanksgiving cards there.

Also, rest assured that my daily posts here will continue. I've got a bunch of card pictures already loaded onto my computer and ready to go. Also, I had promised someone to do a post on the book ornaments I posted a while back, as well as one on taking photos (a subject I feel totally inadequate to discuss, but hey, that's never stopped me before!). These will be coming up, too.

I am really sorry about this but know that y'all understand.

  1. Of course we will understand!! We all have periods when life gets too hectic (and besides you have a new puppy who needs endless games and cuddles). I'm perfectly okay with a break from the challenge and with resuming it once every two weeks instead of weekly. But I'm glad it's not gone forever as I love being stretched by it and also getting to see everyone else's creations.

I appreciate everything you do with the blog, Susan - the design lessons, the ideas, the dialogue you promote in the comments section.

  2. Good Morning Susan

Of course we understand. Crafting is our hobby, it's not our life. I'm glad OLW hasn't gone completely - it's made me look at card making with new eyes (cleaner, simpler).

In the meantime, I thought I'd send you warm wishes. Take care.

  3. Every two weeks sounds great....all these challenges on the net and mostly all of them are every week....it would be nice to have a few that are monthly or every two weeks. sounds good! I would like to participate more often but with a day job and life it is fairly tight on time. Maybe with two week intervals more can participate too.

  6. Thank you so much for all the inspiration, I and many others, judging by the comments and followers that you have, have enjoyed your challenges immensely. I understand completely the need for a breather and wish you the best. I will look forward to your fortnightly challenges and wish you good luck in your very busy life :0) xx

  7. I know just how you feel. Every week I say I'm going to do the OLW Challenge and every week I run out of time! That doesn't mean I won't give up! Your cards and your blog are so inspiring. Hope life calms down a bit for you and you get some 'me' time. xx

  8. I totally get it. I only have one blog and am lucky if I can update it more than twice a week lately. I'll miss your challenges, but will try to keep doing a CAS OLC every Wednesday as a tribute.

    Emphasis on 'try'.

  9. Whew! That's me breathing a sigh of relief! I totally understand taking a break and knowing that something has to give. The OLW challenges are fun, they stretch me, and I'll enjoy them whenever they reappear. Now, since I feel so compelled to do all of your challenges, maybe I can catch up while you're on hiatus! Thanks for all the effort you put into this blog -- I love it!

  11. You do what works best for you, Susan - we totally understand and wouldn't want for burn-out! I gave up on daily posts long ago and can't imagine trying to keep up multiple blogs all the while being on DTs!
