First up, shabby. It's loose, it's organic, it's unpredictable!
To get this effect, I colored the stamp with light and dark blue watercolor crayons, spritzed with water, and stamped. I used a somewhat spiky sentiment (discontinued Hero Arts) with serifs and script combined.
Next up, chic. It's crisp, it's clean, it's fun!
The gray and four different shades of orange and yellow bling give this a fresh, modern feel, which is reinforced by the graphic sentiment.
You can probably guess which version I prefer, but the watercolor one made me happier than I thought it would. I just think it's unbearably cool that this stamp can look so different.

They're both lovely. I can see myself CASE'g both, depending on the person/occasion. It's always nice to see multiple options when using a particular stamp. I always learn something from you. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThere you go again--teaching me something. I really like both of these, but my preference is the second. I think I am drawn to the neater, more orderly version. I like how you kept everything else the same--good control for the experiment.

ReplyDeleteLove the versatility of this stamp! The watercolour one would be great for a teen boy card (with a different sentiment) - they love those 'splatter' type images! (at least that's what all the stamp making companies tell us! LOL!)

I love the chic one the best - but shabby is great too - I could see sending shabby to one of my guy friends and they would absolutely love it.

I like both versions. Some occasions call for less restraint and more energy, and the second is understated but beautiful.
