Warning: this is a needy post.
First of all, can someone please tell me what the heck is going on with Blogger? Every time my blogs load, they're missing the tool bar at the top of the page...it's just blank. For those of you bloggers out there, I'm talking about the tool bar that has the "New Post" link. Then, I refresh the page, and the tool bar magically appears. Huh?
And while nice people are explaining stuff to me, what about the fact that there is no rhyme or reason to staying logged in at various websites after you've shut your computer down at night? Sometimes, when I turn my laptop on in the morning, I am still logged in at Facebook (even when I've forgotten to click the "stay logged in" button), but the next tme, when I have clicked the "stay logged in" button, I'm not logged in. Same goes for Splitcoast and Pinterest. Google Reader, on the other hand, always needs both the username and password every single blessed day. Google, please give us a "stay logged in" button!
Could it have anything to do with Norton Anti-Virus clearing tracking cookies? Or is that a stupid question?
I'm sorry. But I just want to know if anyone knows the answers to these mysteries.
On to stamping-related annoyance. Has anyone had a punch break? I mean, the actual metal part of the punch, not the plastic parts. I've had three or four plastic parts break...no biggie because you sorta expect plastic to eventually wear out. But my holly punch broke on the metal part. ARRRGGGHHH. It's my favorite holiday punch, and I've had it for at least ten years.
I found it at an online vendor I've never ordered from: Stuff 4 Scrapbooking. Anyone have experience with these folks? Please do tell.
Anyway, you're here for a card, and other than these weird internet issues and a broken favorite punch, I'm feeling just ducky and hope you are, too.
Note there is no mat today. I think the white border on the stamped panel substitutes for a mat. You get three layers for the cost of two!
Just two layers. It feels almost normal for me. Except for the kraft. Tomorrow, we're back to white. I promise.
Supplies
stamps: PTI On the Farm
ink: Memento
paper: PTI kraft and white
accessories: dimensionals
Hi Susan, I purchased Spellbinders die cuts from them in December. The prices were good and shipping was fast. I would buy from them again.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are having fun with your new PTI sets. Very cute!
I haven't seen any problems with blogger. I used Chrome .. maybe it's related to your browser? As for your punch, I'd say that 10 years is a pretty good lifespan for a punch!
ReplyDeleteWish I could help you with the computer mysteries. Blogger's spell check shut down on me for about ten days recently (panic on my end as I am the world's worst speller!) but is now back. No idea what happened, but my toolbar is okay. Sorry...no help here.
ReplyDeleteAs for the punch, depending on who made it you could get a new one to replace it. I had a Martha Stewart punch that broke on the metal, told them and they sent me a new one.
Hi Susan, I don't know that much about computers, but can relate to your frustration. I have a similar situation with Flicker, where it requires me to log on every time, and prompts me with an old yahoo account, even though I have logged in a hundred times with google. I know I have ordered from that store you are asking about, but can't remember what I got. If my experience was bad, I would have remembered, and if their prices or shipping were high, I wouldn't have shopped there, so I give you a qualified approval.

ReplyDeleteI'm having the same issue with the "Navbar", Susan. I have to hit re-load anywhere from 2 to 5x for it to come up. I think it has something to do with the header but I have no idea how to fix it and the Google help page wasn't much help.
ReplyDeleteYes,I've had punches break. Nothing to do with the vendor, I'm afraid...more like the mfg. I think they're using thinner metal as well as thinner plastics so they break more easily. Whatever happened to companies taking pride in a product well made?? GRRRRRR
Clearing the cookies is the issue. Don't. If those cookies aren't on your computer, you must re-login every time.
ReplyDeleteHi, Susan--I've ordered from Stamps 4 Scrapbooking and the prices were good and the shipping was speedy. I would recommend them. I have an ancient computer that I have the money to replace, but I'm waiting for it to die before I replace it, so it keeps going and going and going....lol.
ReplyDeleteI've no clue re your computer ?s I do like your duck card on kraft. The stamped image w/the white border looks great. Wonder if I could pull that off? Hmmm. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat card! I don't feel very ducky most of the time I'm using the computer. There's always something going on to annoy me either with e-mail programs, other websites, etc. I have pretty much just reconciled myself to the fact that my blood pressure will be higher whenever I'm using the computer! I don't do Facebook, thus can't do Pinterest, so can't answer questions about them. I have not heard my husband saying anything about a problem with Blogger so I guess not everyone is experiencing the same things. Good luck with all the little annoyances. Hope you get it all worked out.
ReplyDeleteI love the ducky card - great colours!
ReplyDeleteI'm a dunce when it comes to computer issues. But I did have a punch break - I'd bought it at Michaels and no longer had the receipt so figured that wouldn't accept it back. I used a coupon to buy a replacement so it didn't hurt too much.
i love this card. i did have the metal part on a punch break. it was just a small flower that i used a lot to make stickers for envelopes. i couldn't find the exact one, but one similar. it is annoying especially when it's old and can't easily be replaced. while i love your cards, i also check your blog everyday as i appreciate your sense of humor.
ReplyDeleteI ordered from Stuff 4 Scrapbooking and they were very quick with processing and shipping. I would order from them again.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this!!! The colored panel looks amazing on kraft! Such a fabulous card, Susan! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Susan!
ReplyDeleteThe card is fab, love the image.
The blogger issues stopped when I started using Chrome.
Warm hugs
Maarit
Sorry I can't help with the computer or the pinch. But I really like the ducky card :)
ReplyDeleteI meant to say punch not pinch!
ReplyDeleteI've not had that issue with Blogger, but I have had login issues with my Google homepage and Gmail. My issue with Blogger was not being able to find any help via their help pages when it said I was running out of memory.
ReplyDeleteInteresting comment above about Chrome. Perhaps little gnomes have been released to make us all follow the same cow path to Chrome? OTOH, is Chrome a bad thing? I don't want to learn new software and all that it entails. I wish they would just update behind the scenes and not make everything such a you-know-what! I've cards to make for Pete's sake.
Hope your situation is resolved soon!
Adorable card! Two layers is just right on this one! Love the image and sentiment.
ReplyDeleteBlogger always keeps me logged in so I'm not sure why you have to log in every time. I haven't experienced the other blogger issue you described - yet. Hope you figure it out :)
I have ordered several times from Stuff 4 Scrapbooking, and found the goods to be exactly what they were advertised to be, less expensive than most, and shipping to be rapid. I will definitely buy from them again.
ReplyDeleteYou can install a Do Not Track plugin on your browser to stop the sites from following you around the internet, and leave your cookies alone. I am no expert on computers or the internet, but I know that your various sites leave a cookie to maintain automatic logins.
I have had the metal portion of a punch break. I think they are made out of pot metal and are mis manufactured on occasion, which causes them to break. Some of them make the mistake of not punching properly, too. OTOH, if you got 10 years out of it, I think you got your money's worth!
Thanks for all of your hard work. I throughly enjoy your blog.
I went WEEKS, unable to POST to my own blog!! (But, on the UPSIDE, I had SEVERAL cards to post once I figured out my problem. :)
ReplyDeleteDon't know if this is your issue, but I learned that I was (unbeknownst to me) auto-logging in to my blog with a DIFFERENT Google account than the one used to set-up the blog. Soooo, even though I could VIEW my blog, I couldn't post because I was considered a visitor!
I love your DUCKY card on the kraft stock -- but then, kraft IS my favorite card base!
My perception of the PTI farm animal stamps and dies was that they were TOO SMALL, but your wide border technique TOTALLY solves the problem!
LOVE YOUR STYLE.
