Hampton Arts Presents Stamp: Take 1

Thanks for your patience and good wishes as I've been recovering. Your comments and emails were very sweet. I think I'm on the mend, but whatever bug's got me seems tricky...it lets me start to feel a bit better, then WHAM! Flattened again.

So let's hope that today's increase in energy is, in fact, a sign of recovery. I plan on taking it slowly, no matter what. I hope you all are well!

A few weeks ago, I purchased a new stamp at Michael's because I really don't have enough birthday-themed stamps. I've used the whole stamp as it is on the wood block for both of today's cards. Then, over the next few days, I'll share some variations that turned out quite fun!

First up, stylish black and white with tiny colored blings. One of the packages is popped up because I'd already ruined three card bases with inadequate inking, and I had to improvise.

The second version changes the color and turns the theme to Christmas.

So, what do you think of this stamp?

Supplies
stamps: Hampton Art Stamps, Papertrey (Mega Mixed Messages)
ink: VersaColor
paper: PTI
accessories: rhinestones, stamp positioner

  4. I love it, especially the black and white version! The bling makes it fun:)
Glad you are feeling a little better, pace yourself. I always want to dive right into things, but I should slow down. There is just never enough time for everything some days.

  6. Wow, what a great stamp! It's amazing to me how different the 2 cards are just with that little change of adding color. The green sparkles on teh Christmas one really make it pop. So glad that you are up to being creative again. Blessings to you and your family.

Love the stamp and love how you make me look at stamps differently here's to a speedy and full recovery -for your own needs (and selfishly for my needs as I dont want "simplicity withdrawl symptoms" .. Can I justify a trip to the U.S just to shop for craft goodies that don't make it over here?better start saving

  11. I like the stamp and both of your cards. It seems versatile and I think it would suit any age. I can see myself making a little stash in a variety of colors and then adding the sentiment as needed. :)

  12. I love them both, but am especially drawn to the black. I think the one raised package adds interest, and I love the little bit of bling! Great cards!!!

  13. What do I think of this stamp? I think I'm going to have to make a trip to Michael's to purchase my own! I LOVE it! Love the cards you made with it, too! Glad to hear you're feeling better ... I hope it continues!

  15. SO glad you are feeling better. Take your time recovering. Family has a way of forcing one to jump in when just a little step in would be more appropriate. At least my family always does! Love the stamp and your way of using it. I especially like the "botched" card with the popped up box.

  21. I too have seen that stamp - and passed on it. I didn't think i could use it. But, I didn't think of using it for "plain" birthday cards - it's a Christmas stamps and that's all it's for... duh!!
Thanks for showing me the light
    Glad you're feeling better too

  25. You could ROCK a stamp of a straight line. (Come on, you know you could.) I love both of these, but the B&W is my favorite. Love what you do with CAS.

  26. What I think of this stamp is that it benefits greatly from being used by you! Fabulous cards - I love both versions.

  27. Great stamp and I love how the two different colors really set the stage for different occasions.

Glad to hear you're starting to feel better. It's hard being a mom when you don't feel good.

  28. I love both cards, but the b & w is tops! Thanks for sharing and may the bug leave you alone! We in cyberspace and your family need you! :)

  29. I really like both color schemes. I'm in Michaels all the time so have probably seen this stamp but it apparently didn't make any impression on me at all since I don't remember it. That's the fun of reading lots of cardmaker's blogs and having the opportunity to see things like this through another person's eyes. It doesn't help my pocketbook, though.

  30. I hope you're feeling better today. I like both cards, but I'm really drawn to the black and white. That's a color scheme I rarely use on cards. I should use it more often.

  31. This is the kind of stamp set I would have picked up and then wondered what to do with it once I got it home. Wish I had your imagination. Glad you share it with us. The black and white is my favorite, but maybe it is because it is 75 and sunny, and Christmas seems far away ...

  34. I like the black & white version, too. It screams "elegance" to me, especially with the one popped up and a little added bling. I wish it wasn't such a long trip to the closest Michael's. At least I'm closer to one than Anonymous in the UK.

  35. Wow, you sure know how to rock a stamp! And even though you did not plan it, I think the popped up package on the black is genius!
