Blessings and Butterflies

Great responses to the color question on my last post!!! And no, I won't be using Fairy Vomit anytime soon because I gave it away. But I do have a VersaColor cube that's close to Fairy Vomit. I  used it sometime over the winter and liked it.

Anything's possible, I suppose.

Today's card spotlights orange, the color I used to hate. Clearly, I've gotten over it.

The butterfly and border are from a PTI anniversary set called Round and Round. I wanted to use the border in a slightly different way, so I left it floating. Which caused me to pull the butterfly stamp out and make everything float on the card. The sentiment is from Signature Greetings, also by PTI.

Feel free to take the sentiment personally on this rainy Friday. You really are a blessing to me, for reading my blogs, for commenting, for emailing me, for encouraging me.

Thank you.

Supplies
stamps: Papertrey Round and Round, Signature Greetings
ink: Memento
paper: Papertrey white
accessories: rhinestones

  1. Thanks, Susan! I think I will take the sentiment personally today. ;-) I love the floating border surrounded by floating butterflies, and I love the colours!

  2. So pretty Susan. I have to say orange is one of my favorite colors, but I seem to have trouble using it. You give me inspiration.
And as to your rain-I would gladly take that over what we are getting-another 6" of snow overnight! And more to come. Where, oh where, is spring? :)

  4. I've never had to overcome a dislike of orange; it's one of my favorite colors. Butterflies, on the other hand, sort of make me cringe since they seem to be everywhere. I know they're supposed to be cheery and symbolic, but.... You have, however, made a card with them that I actually like. Will wonders never cease? I don't think I'll be buying any butterfly stamps of my own, but you go right ahead and use them to your heart's content. You are among my count of daily blessings, too. Thanks for the sentiment.

  5. Seriously gorgeous card. Love the stripe of circles-that sounds odd... This is a wonderful creation. Orange you glad you don't hate orange anymore? (sorry, just couldn't help it..) You are a blessing as well. Bev

  6. Susan I love your use of the Round and Round border on this card. I never use that stamp in my set and now I am inspired to give it a try. Have a great weekend.

  10. Thanks for posting such a bright spring-like card. We are having a freezing rain & storm here. Looks like I will have to wait several more weeks for my first rhubarb harvest. ;-)

  13. I was going to ask about the fairy vomit, too, until I saw it asked and answered...h-m-m-m...wonder if I have that color?? I do love your new name for it! And I just looked - I DO have it! I'll have to stick a label on there with its new name....

  14. I would like to say, you are also a blessing to me! I started following this blog because I'm a stamping addict, then migrated to your other blogs as well. I glean inspiration not only from your card designs, but your basic outlook on life. I have become more aware of my blessings in life and how to express that gratitude. Thank you for your wonderful take on life!

  15. Pretty card. I love the orange and since I didn't get to comment on the last post about colors I'll say it here... I pretty much like all colors (at least one or more shades of each color) and I don't have a problem using a wide variety of colors on my cards.

But as far as desserts go there's nothing wrong with having a favorite dessert... just my opinion, of course! :) Being a chocoholic, I'd pretty much pick the chocolate dessert over any other choice. But, that's not to say I don't also like many other desserts and if chocolate is not a choice there are plenty of things that would satisfy my sweet tooth. Although I have been known to say that if it's not chocolate, it's not worth wasting the calories on. (And yes, I know I ended that sentence with a preposition and I do that quite often. I just hate what to me comes off as a more haughty sounding sentence when you change the wording to keep it from ending with those pesky prepositions!) :)

  16. Well, just when I learnt to ground what's on my cards, you just had to go let them all afloat :). That's a gorgeous card.
    Bless you.
