On one dark and gloomy night, the poor, white card stock--innocent of any wrong-doing--was suddenly violated by a big, bossy shadow stamp who'd done unspeakable things with a green Kaleidacolor ink pad and a spray bottle.
"Oh, woe is me!" cried the card stock.
The sad and wailing card stock was overheard by a tree punch from EK Success.
"What's wrong, little piece of card stock?" the punch asked.
"I have been stained green by a mean ol' stamp!" answered the card stock.
"I know just what to do," said the punch.
And the card stock found new purpose in life, was showered with riches, and lived happily every after.

Have you heard of the story why we wrap tinsel around the Christmas tree??
When Mary and Joseph were fleeing from Bethlehem, they had to hide inside a cave.. when the soldiers came poking around, they saw that the cave's mouth was covered with spider's web .. so the soldiers went away thinking the cave wasn't in use.. So the tinsel is a remembrance of that kind spider which worked very hard to give that kind of protection! :)
Maybe a folk lore, but I think it is a wonderful story :)
I wonder about red gems, too. Two reasons I went with green: 1) I really didn't want to distract from the gradient of the tree since that's so cool, and 2) I have a gazillion large green rhinestones. Sometimes design choices are as much about supplies as design, LOL!
