What Makes You Happy?

As I type this on Saturday afternoon, I'm sitting on our east-facing deck in the shade looking out at gorgeous green, freshly mowed grass; soft blue sky; and the moon hanging above trees not yet leafed out. The sound of neighbors mowing and birds singing and squirrels skittering through the underbrush are so very relaxing.  A gentle breeze blows 73 degree air across my bare arms.

This day makes me happy. God's beautiful creation makes me happy!

Today's card is correspondingly fresh and spring-like. While two-step stamping often feels like my nemesis, the Circle Scribble Flowers sets from My Favorite Things is surprisingly easy to line up. See?

If I can do this, anyone can. Truly.

So, what is making YOU happy today? I'd like to know!

  5. Love the card. Colors are great! What makes me happy today is that we are going to be able to go to church. Last Sundays both of us had allergies and we would have been an annoyance to those around us. I finished 3 pocket letters last night and that made me happy. I am going to do swap cards this afternoon for card club and since I know what I am doing, that makes me happy also. Thanks for your wonderful card inspiration!

  7. For the first time this year, I was able to sit out in my garden (in the north of England) for an hour this afternoon. I needed a coat but enjoyed the sun. This time of year makes me happy as there is all the rest of spring, summer & autumn to look forward to. (Oh dear, I can hear my English teacher's voice from 60 years ago saying "Never end a sentence with a preposition", & I know you are an English specialist, Susan, so apologies.)

  8. What a pretty spring card. I love the color! The change in midwest weather makes me very happy.

I am also happy to be making some progress in my craft room. We moved at the end of January. The rest of the house had priority on organization and being "livable". I still have not put up pictures; but the house is getting there.

My craft room; sadly is a complete wreck. First we could not find the pegs for the shelves in my storage closets. Then some of the shelves were missing. (I think hubby put them at the curb in a fervor of letting go). But now, finally, I am making progress. Oh so slowly; but I'm happy with that because I am letting go too. People will be happy with my donations. And I am happy.

  9. Delicious, Susan ... and so beautifully balanced ... a breath of spring! I'm happy today as the sun is shining, birds are nesting, everything's growing ... and I'm off to church shortly for a good dose of the Good Word! Anita :)

  10. The day of your post we were celebrating my only child's 15th birthday by throwing a party for him and 9 of his closest friends. This made me very happy! He's a great kid and has picked good friends. This also makes me happy! *And* he is not eager to get his driver's permit anytime soon... this *also* makes me happy! ;-)
