Make a Card for Yourself

Most of the time, we make cards to send to others, but it's fun--and therapeutic--to make a card just for yourself every now and then.

As I was playing around with Simon Says Stamp's My Sunshine set, this card happened. It's exactly what I need to hear right now. May is always crazy with end-of-school activities and summer preparations. So here's a card just for me!

Both the stamps were inked with the lighter color and then the darker color ink was rocked and rolled up from the bottom of stamp. The gradation adds interest, but with the dark colors on bottom, the whole impression is of sinking into relaxation. Well, that's how I take it.

What message do you need to hear right now? Make a card for yourself and put it on your mantle or inspiration board just like you would a card from someone else. Don't we need to take good care of ourselves so we can take good care of others?

I think so.

Supplies
stamps: Simon Says Stamp My Sunshine
ink: Impress Fresh Ink, Memento Luxe, VersaMagic
paper: Papertrey white

  1. Actually, this card would be fitting for me too!! Or, maybe a "don't worry, it'll be alright" type of card, Lol!

I like your take of sinking into relaxation. I have those type of thoughts when I create, but I don't know how often the actually come across in the final product. Maybe it doesn't need to. Create with a thought, but let others interrupt how they want!

  3. I have been making myself all sorts of pep talks, so I get it.

  4. I do love the effect of the gradient stamping. I used to make mostly cards with a Christmas or birthday sentiments, but lately I find myself using more generally uplifting sentiments. Maybe I will send them to someone when the need arises, but for now I'm simply having them on display in the living room. I always like to display the last batch of cards I made (and amaze myself with what I've created) until it's time to send them out or to replace them with a fresh batch.

  5. I've been sending a card every week to my daughter at work. She has a very stressful job, and she and her team love getting the cards. I never thought of making one for myself, though!
