Rainbow Mojo Give-Away: Day 9 of 10

We're almost to the end of our rainbow! For rules on this ten-day give-away, please see this post. Remember you need to leave a comment on this post (not in an email) to be included in the random drawing!

Today is a PINK sort of day. Pink is a particularly bling-y color, don't you think? I did, when I made this card:

The border is from PTI's Retro Borders, and it's accented with Hero Arts rhinestones. The sentiment is from PTI's Simple Little Things, which was their first anniversary set. Golly, I love the sentiments in that set!

Now for the yummy pink mojo! Check out all this cotton candy lusciousness!

Contents
1. Four lengths of ribbon
2. Two shades of Maya Road velvet flowers
3. PTI buttons
4. Flower Soft (heather)
5. Small safety pins
6. Rhinestone brads
7. Small hot pink brads
8. Hero Arts self-adhesive pink pearls
9. Hero Arts self-adhesive pink rhinestones
10. Iridescent gold/pink half beads (more from twinkletoes!)

Today's Rainbow Mojo Question: What is your go-to embellishment for cards?

98 comments:

  1. I love that "bit-o-bling" on todays pink card! I'd say that my go to is either ribbon (almost always...not even really a consideration, more like a staple!) or stickles. just a tiny bit of shine!

    ReplyDelete
  2. No card is complete without ribbon!

    ReplyDelete
  3. Lovely pink card! You remind me how
versatile a border stamp can be. My
go to embellishment would be ribbon,
    brads, pearls or a punched/cut
    element.

    ReplyDelete
  4. A lot of times I use brads and also half pearls. I'm just getting used to bling, I try to use that only sparingly. You are a master at it!

  5. Love the pink.....my go to item is for sure buttons although ribbon is great too...
Great card, you always manage to amaze me....

    ReplyDelete
  6. Easy - ribbon. I use lots of it.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I'm loving all your simple cards with the touches of bling! This pink one rocks.

I think ribbon is my go-to but I'm definately trying to branch out.

    ReplyDelete
  8. My first go-to embellishment is ribbon. Surprisingly, buttons rank lower on the list, like at 4th or 5th. That's usually because I want something to be rather flat because I'm sending it through the Post.

  9. Oh, lovely card once again! That PTI set is definitely one of their most versatile.
Now, I know I claimed orange as my favorite color, but pink...well, pink is barely in 2nd place. Actually, I probably use and wear pink more often than orange!
My go-to, like lots of others, is probably ribbon, although sewing is definitely gaining ground.
    Enjoy your day!

  10. Well, that's an easy one - pearls! Especially since they have come out in all those beautiful colors! Love these pinks - such a happy color!

    ReplyDelete
  11. You've mentioned PTI's anniversary set Simple Little Things a couple times, and how much you liked it. So why can't I find it in PTI's store? As for embellishments, my favorite is ribbon, as almost any card looks better with it (I think). But a close second is bling, most notably pearls. Now that they come in so many colors, they're just so appropriate in so many cases. I love rhinestones too, but pearls lend many cards a little "class" that I like in some instances.

My go to embelly is sparkly glimmer mist and anything blingy! Rhinestones, Stickles, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Ooooooooooo PINK! I've been denying pink is my favorite color for over 20 years - I guess it finally caught up to me! (ANd I'm even wearing pink today!) Since I consider ribbon a main design element, I would have to say Sickles or rhinestones would be my most used embellishments...

Thanks for the wonderful inspiration, as always! :)

  14. I'm not a fan of pink but it does have it's place in the color world. My fave go-to bling is gems and pearls. Gotta have a large stash of them in clear, white, silver and gold. They can then be colored to suit your fancy.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Oh, I am loving all your luscious pink goodies! Please, please choose my number! :)

My go-to embellishment for cards? Ribbon, of course.

    ReplyDelete
  16. ah Pink! It is a great color when other crafters create with it. I am not a huge pink fan and struggle to make anything with it. It always turns out too fluffy looking!! LOL!! I do love your dark pink with all that bling ... maybe I'm just not using enough bling :-) My go to embellishment has to be ribbon, which is a big change for me since starting out I rarely used ribbon and struggled with it! Ah, how we change!!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Pretty, pretty pink! My go-to embellishment is Stickles. It adds just the perfect amount of sparkle to finsh a card without overdoing it. It is also so much easier to use that traditional glue and glitter.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Beautiful bling -- I love the little sumpin'-sumpin' those rhinestones add. BTW -- bet you could do a great essay on the entomology of the word rhinestone . . . stones from the Rhine??

Some sparkle is a favorite embellishment -- Spica pen, Stickles, stones from the Rhine :)

Thanks for another chance to win.

  19. Thanks for another CAS card idea! My favorite embellishment this past winter has been a tiny Swaroski flat back crystal in the center of a die cut snowflake. Spring is around the corner though, so I have stopped making them for now!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Ribbon is definitely my go-to embellishment. I have a stash of glittery bling that I need to learn to use. Thanks for the inspiration.

RIBBON!!!!!!!!! i have such a huge collection, i have been trying to add ribbon whenever possible! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  22. definitely ribbon! Thanks for the chance to win!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Buttons, buttons and more buttons!! A close second would be Stickles.
    Thanks, Susan for your generosity!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Your pink card is inspiring me to rethink border stamps......I've never bought any because I couldn't think how I would use them. In a million years I wouldn't have thought to use them as the main image.
My go-to embellishment goes in streaks. Right now I'm trying to force myself to give up gold or silver charms I've been hoarding for years because they were too expensive.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Ribbon and buttons are my go to.

I love the pink, it would match my craft room.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Oh my! PINK!!! Since I have a little dd, I use it more and more! My go-to embellishment are brads and eyelets! Always buy more of them!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yeah! I love pink! And my favorite go-to embellishment has to be ribbon, or buttons, I can't decide, how about both?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Rhinestones are it for me! They add sparkle and are so much easier to get straight in a row than those pesky little brads :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. go to is always ribbon and then either pearls or buttons. love the pink prize and your card again is so simple and pretty. my style.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Another great card, Susan!

Hmmm ... not sure if this counts or not, but my favorite "go-to" embellishment is scoring!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Another beautifully simple card! My go-to embellishment is probably flowers. A very close second is ribbon. It seems one of these two inevitably ends up on my cards.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Probably faux stitching or hole-piercing (does that count as an embellishment?)
    Nance in Reno

    ReplyDelete
  33. Ribbon. I love ribbon. Can't get enough of it. I'm lousy at tying bows but I can do a decent knot.

    ReplyDelete
  34. My go-to embellishment is adhesive bling, like Hero Arts or Kaiser adhesive gems, or Stampendous rhinestone stickers (totally flat). I also almost always have a bit of heat embossing somewhere, often the sentiment, for that little additional wow.

Love your card and all those pink pretties!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I love ribbon and rhinestones! that is what you will se pretty much in all my cards :)
    Your card is so pretty!!

Thanks for another chance to win.
    God bless
    Giovana

  36. Pink!!! I Love Pink!! And your card is fantastic (as usual). Love it.
Ribbon I guess is my main go-to embellishment, or pearls, or rhinestones, or stickels, or brads, or buttons, or.............

    ReplyDelete
  37. That's my favorite stamp in that set. What a pretty card!

My go-to embellishment hands-down is ribbon!

    Thanks for the giveaway!
    Josiane

    ReplyDelete
  38. So many people have already said it, but RIBBON is my "go-to" embellishment. A few times, I've even colored paper so it looks like ribbon!! There's something about it that adds the perfect touch!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Definitely ribbon..
pretty card.. thanks for the giveaway..

    ReplyDelete
  40. Every day I think - this is your best give-away card yet! But really, this one is.

My most-used embellie is ribbon. But lately I've been creating more one layer cards with no embellishments at all. Nust be the LateBlossom Effect.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Love your card with pink. Another of my favorite colors. Thanks for a chance to win some great blog candy in pink.
I use ribbon more than any other embellishment.
    DeniseB

    ReplyDelete
  42. All the pinks are so pretty. My favorite embellishment would have to be glitter. I use it on almost all of my cards. I also use a lot of ribbon.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Oooh, I've been waiting for PINK!!!! My all time favourite go to embellishment has to be rhinestones. I never get bored with them , have them in EVERY shade and think they make a card come alive even if you just add one. I love anything sparkly to be truthful but gems are just the most amazing little things and I'd be lost without my collection!

    ReplyDelete
  44. This is an easy answer for me. My "go-to embellishment" for cards id definitely "pearls". Seems like I have pearls on 3/4ths of my cards.

Love your pink card. Don't know where you come up with all your brilliant ideas. Thanks for a chance to win some "bling".

    ReplyDelete
  45. The more shiney things the better. I love rhinestones or sticky gems and in my opinion no card is complete without a sparkle. Must have a little crow in me. =]

    ReplyDelete
  46. Every card could use a bit of 3/8" grosgrain ribbon, or some paper piecing holes (on a corner, in a line, or even stitched with a white gel pen). Also it's more of a construction need than an embellishment need, but every card needs some DIMENSIONALS (a layer popped up, a die-cut or punched piece, SOMETHING... popped up on dimensionals)!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Ribbon, for sure. It can be used in so many different ways, giving many different looks!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Ooohhh, Pink! So lovely and feminine. My go to embellishment is probably Stickles glitter glue. I love the ease of use, the fantastic sparkle, the choice of colors.

    Diane M

    ReplyDelete
  49. Flowers, I try to include them on all my stuff. It's my signature. Of course sometimes they aren't appropriate but you'd be surprised what I can do with a flower.

    ReplyDelete
  50. these days I'm loving half pearls

    ReplyDelete
  51. That is a darling card! You make me want to shop PTI!!! Today's question is simple for me to answer. My go-to embellishment is ribbon!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Rachel B. (Brightrk81@msn.com)March 9, 2010 at 12:47 PM

Buttons! I've started the greatest collection of colors from PTI. I have them all lined up on my desk in clear jars and seperated by color. There's something about seeing them that just makes me so happy.

    ReplyDelete
  53. My go-to would definitely have to be rhinestones, I LOVE them!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Pink makes me feel like Spring is coming!!!! My go-to embellishment for cards is some type of texture - be it embossing, tearing, crumpling, scoring...I love texture! Thanks for the chance to win!

    ReplyDelete
  55. hands down....ribbon. hopefully pink ribbon! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  56. SU clear rhineston brads I love them I have to branch out and get more colours but I just love them.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Another Simply beautiful card! I guess I really have three go-to embellishments. First, I can hardly make any card without ribbon, not even a guy card! Second, I love flowers, though I do leave them off the guy cards (usually) and Third, Pearls, Pearls, Pearls. They dressup a card so much. They add an elegance and beauty to almost any card.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Sometimes it seems my go-to embellishment is tea stains, but that's unintentional drips from the cups of tea that must accompany my stamping. . . ! Intentional--ribbon, punched elements.
Your rainbow contest has been so fun. Thank you also for teaching me that bling and simplicity can mix.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Love pink!
My go to embellie for cards would have to be ribbon. I put it on a bunch of em.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Another lovely fresh happy card today. Thanks for all your inspiration. My go-to embellishment would have to be ribbon too, closely followed by pearls and rhinestones.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Even though I haven't had time to comment, I have been loving all your rainbow cards & goodies! RIBBON is my go-to embellishment; I love all kinds of decorations, but it seems ribbon is the easiest for me--lazy is probably more like it! I do like bling too!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Your Dot Spot card is lovely. I use ribbon the most, but rhinestones are a close second.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Love your simple card! I don't use a lot of embellies, probably ribbon is used most. I'm starting to built up a stash of (unused so far) buttons so can't wait to start incorporating some of those...

    ReplyDelete
  64. My go-to embellishment is ribbon. I know that's not too original, but I'm a plain sort of stamper. I do use pearls and rhinestones on occasion, but ribbon shows up consistently.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Go to would either be ribbon or (because of you) bling! I love little gemstones and the like.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Great card, what a creative way to use that stamp. Never fails to amaze me the things you come up with.
Anyway, my favorite embellishment would have to be ribbon. A card feels naked without it. I am trying to use more buttons, rhinestones, pearls etc. or at least that is what I keep telling myself as I buy more and more of them.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Buttons, definitely buttons. I love ribbon and own some, but rarely use it.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Ribbon, ribbon and more ribbon. Did I mention that I like to use ribbon on my cards????
I have boxes of the stuff and seem to still NEED more!

I love this card - and I have that PTI set and never use it. I'm going to go whip it out this evening and use it.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I'm lovin' the pink card. Might have to get the set just for that stamp border.

I love to use rhinestones. And ribbon. And pearls. Oh, I'm sorry...I was suppose to just pick one?!?

    ReplyDelete
  70. Love the pink. Reminds me of a musical score - well kinda. :)

    Embellishment?? Flowers!

    ReplyDelete
  71. What a lovely card.
My go to embelli would have to be ribbon, and even that I don't use a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I have lots of ribbon, but I LOVE my rhinestones! I don't have to plan how I can use them like I do if I want to use ribbon. I love your pinks!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Pink is my favorite color and my go to embellie is flowers or pearls. Love your card, so very elegant!

    ReplyDelete
  74. I seem to use glitter on a lot of my cards. Guess I like the "sparkle".

    ReplyDelete
  75. Definitely rhinestones. My sister claims that I'm one of those birds that's attracted to shiny things. Lovely pink card you got there today! :)

    ReplyDelete
  76. The pink card is co cute! Not a shade of pink I'd normally use, but really stands out against the white. Oooo......the embelishments I seem to use the most are brads, especially rhinestone brads. Dew drops and rhinestones tend to pop up a fair bit, though.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Ribbons and bling are my go to items at the moment. I went through a strong button phase there for a while, too. I LOVE all the pink! I'm ready to bling it UP!

    ReplyDelete
  78. 100% ribbon - practically my only embellishment. Love ribbon. Love your cards. My inspiration every day.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I have to admit to being a bit of a ribbon freak. I also love the little rhinestones in different colors.

    ReplyDelete
  80. susan,
LOVE the creative way you've used this border stamp. so clever, you are!
i like using ribbon and buttons and brads on my cards. oops. is that more than one embellishment?
thanks for all the fun stuff.

  81. I love bling and pearl bling. Sometimes a little and sometimes a lot depending on what kind of day I am having.

    ReplyDelete
  82. It has got to be ribbon! I want to like buttons and felt flowers.....

    ReplyDelete
  83. Always, always, always rhinestones, thought it's alittle harder to incorporate on a male card. Somehow it makes me feel happier so must make the recipient feel uplifted as well. Ribbon is pretty good too.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Ribbon does it for me, very closely followed by rhinestones.
Love this card it could turn even me into a pink girl!! You really know how to get the best from your stamps!

  85. My go to embellishment would definitely be brads. Collette katshon66@aol.com

    ReplyDelete
  88. LOVE your style!! Thanks SO much for sharing your fabulous cards and ideas. I would have to say that lately my go to embellishment has been mini flatback pearls... they can be simple and/or stunning.- And you can color them to match anything! - But I am also loving the Sweet Pea felt from SU...

    ReplyDelete
  89. If I don't add ribbon to a card, I feel like I've left it standing in front of the class in its underwear. I couldn't leave it like THAT now could I? :)

    Dreena

    ReplyDelete
  90. My go to embellishment would be rhinestones and or ribbon. I used to use a lot of chipboard but now would be tiny and small rhinestones.
Love that card today, simple but really sweet.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Ribbon is always a must embellishment for me. Also use some pearls or brads.

    Love this pink card!!

    ReplyDelete
  92. Easy question, bibbon and brads. I can't do a card without one or the other or both.

    ReplyDelete
  93. brads, brads and more brads!!! Or any kind of stickles or glitter... gotta sparkle!!!

    ReplyDelete
  94. Oh, I LOVE pink! My go-to embellishment is ribbon. Ribbon, ribbon, ribbon!

    ReplyDelete
  95. Mine is rhinestones and ribbon. I seem to have an abundance of both and seem to buy more at every chance. But less is more so I try to keep my embellishing to a minimum so that you see the card no the embellishment.
