I enjoyed using kraft cardstock so much on Christmas cards for today's challenge that I actually made three cards. One of them used patterened paper (I KNOW!!!!), and one was a one-layer card (no surprise there). You'll see both next week. But my favorite by just a smidge was the one inspired by the awesome Kelley (AKA keuby at SCS) and her fabulous one-layer krafty holly card (third down on this post of her blog).
Because my kraft cardstock allowed the Bic Mark-Its to bleed through, I ended up doing layers and OH.MY.GOSH. Can you believe how that ticket punch totally makes this card special? I simply could NOT resist.
And why, yes! That IS red Stickles for the berries. Thank you for noticing! That's two days in a row of bling-on-kraft, which makes my heart go pitter-patter.
I think it's pretty funny that Mary Dawn's Christmas Kraft card is, indeed, one layer, while mine has three. I'm going to CASE hers because I have that set and it's an awesomely clean-and-simple card. So click on over to My Pink Mexico to check it out.
And remember...leave a comment here and on My Pink Mexico each day this week to maximize your chances to win the FAB give-away we're doing: a Big Bite and $25 gift certificate to PTI!
On a different note, this week's CAS63 Challenge is WONDERFUL! If you haven't seen it yet, please go check it out. It was too fun for just one card, so my cards are here, here, and here.

ReplyDeleteThe ticket punch is the key on this card, and you and Kelley are my most favorite-ess designers ever! I admire what you can do with just stamps and paper.

ReplyDeleteTicket punch AND stickles on one card? Amazing! I love it!!! What a beauty, and how funny that you ended up with layers and she ended up with one layer! You girls are so much fun!
ReplyDeleteSusan, I can't believe how prolific you are! I struggle to make one good card every now and then, and you come up with 4 beauties in one day! I love the Christmas card, and you're so right about the ticket punch making it special. And I love, love, love the challenge cards, especially the starfish/bling one! All 4 of your cards today are fantastic. Thanks so much for sharing your creative abilities with us!
ReplyDeletewow Susan, I think you might have found your new "look" - you are knocking these kraft cards out of the park!! And you are so prolific these days!! I'm loving this week's challenges and hope to try some of them out myself ... maybe tonight??!!
ReplyDeleteA fabulous Kraft card base. I knew you could do it. The layer of red sure makes this card special. I checked out your cards for the challenge at SCS and I am totally in love with those owls. Can't wait to see what you do tomorrow.

Great card, Susan! Love the red with kraft and the sparkle. tfs
ReplyDeleteI don't have the ticket punch. I just stick a corner of my paper to the center of my one inch circle punch. I guess I'm cheap! Love the popped up layer and the red stickles.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, I love the framing, it just makes it pop!!
ReplyDeleteThe layering is just fantastic....how often a blooper results in a winner! Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteI agree with NancyJ-I use a circle punch to get the same look as the ticket punch. Awesome design on this card.
ReplyDeleteYou're right. Again. The corner punch completes the card!
ReplyDeleteThe punched corners are fantastic. Love how small details can make such a difference!
ReplyDeleteGreat card! I just love how you make your cards so "simple" but beautiful. Can't wait to see what you have for tomorrow

ReplyDeleteBeautiful! You're right, the ticket punch gives it such a nice touch.
ReplyDeleteHow do you think it would look if you left the base as kraft but changed the middle, stamped panel to white? I think I'm going to try it! :)
I love this! The ticket corner punch DOES make it special! Love the Stickles also! But I can't help thinking how pretty this would be in white instead of kraft--sorry that's contrary to the whole point of this week. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Card, with one of my favoutites -Stickles!! I am getting inspired to start my Christmas Card stash now that I've seen this!
ReplyDeleteGreat card! Another one for the CASE files. Can't wait to see the other two.

Love this. So simple but so elegant. The red layer just makes it pop.
ReplyDeleteI love how you put the red unmounted on the kraft card, then mounted the kraft piece! Very stunning! I'm going to do this TODAY!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Should I start my Christmas card making now? Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteYou rocked the Kraft today! :) Love it! Those corners are sweet!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! You know, I have never used Bic markers on cards? Love the ticket corner punch here!! Hugs,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card! We make cards for Operation Write Home so we don't get a lot of chances to experiment with glitter. I really like your red Stickles though! it is quite pretty.
ReplyDeleteKraft is the new white - at least, when you're using it. Perfect placement of the sentiment. It's just plain fun.
