My past few forays in the craft room have been a tad frustrating. One amusing product of the frustration will make it on the blog for a laugh later this week, but sadly, my recycle box filled quickly the past few days.
Then, I made this. Whew. What a relief.
That sentiment font is so very pretty. Take a closer look.
So pretty it doesn't need any embellishment...just a simple and subtle frame and a rich, beautiful color.
The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp's It's Your Birthday. The envelope stamps are also from SSS, Envelope Sentiments. The card size is 3.5" x 6.25".
Today's post shows how very little you need to make a pretty, high-impact card. Ink. White card stock. Pretty stamps.
And it made me happy. So very happy!
What have you made lately that makes you happy?
Supplies
Stamps: Simon Says Stamp Envelope Sentiments, It's Your Birthday
Ink: Hero Arts raspberry
Paper: Papertrey Ink white
Accessories: envelope
Oooooo!!! I like it!
ReplyDeleteRight now, my Silhouette Cameo has made what little creating I've been able to do soooo much easier--which, in turn, makes me happy. While I love the creative process, I make an unholy mess while doing it and current home updates already have claim to everything being out of place and in the wrong rooms. A quick cutting file has saved me twice this week!
I'm impressed that with so much chaos in your home, you're still able to create! Excellent!
Deletegreat CAS card.
ReplyDeleteWell the last thing which made me happy was cleaning my windows yesterday... a lot of work but when done it is more satisfying than a finished card could ever do... ;-)
another thing that made me happy was using all these prestamped images I made ages ago and finally finished them to a card series. Mosted of them are already on my blog :)
Oh, I do love clean windows!
DeleteIt is indeed simply lovely

Thanks, Kathy!
DeleteA really clean design, Susan. I think the simplicity of this card makes such an impact because you adapted to card size to your sentiment strip.
ReplyDeleteI've making several cards lately that really make me happy, some of them clean, some less so but they made me step out of my comfort zone. And now, looking back, I'm amazed that it was me who made them.
I've also finally started to organize my craft room. After my husband's surgery, chemotherapy, and final surgery this February and my own struggles with a frozen shoulder that's still not fully thawed, I'm happy that we are both having more strength and energy to tackle things that have been left this past year.
It's so fun to get outside your comfort zone occasionally.
DeleteI do hope you and your husband are tip-top very, very soon, and stay that way for a very long time. I'm so sorry you've both been dealing with health issues, especially cancer. Blessings to you both!
Gorgeous. These super clean cards scare me a bit since the craftsmanship must be superb (as yours is).
ReplyDeleteIt does take practice to line things up and glue them cleanly, but really, slowing down and being careful get you a long way!!
DeleteA gorgeous, albeit plain card. Perfect too!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteYou make simple look easy. And I know it's not. I made a graduation card for our nephew. Fairly simple and it made me happy when done.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your nephew!
DeleteI love the color of the sentiment against the white! Wonderful contrast.

Thanks, Donna!
DeleteYour card is so elegant in its simplicity.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sheila! Good to hear from you!
DeleteI'm happy that my lengthy bout of brain fog finally seems to be lifting. Because of a change in medication, I have not been able to concentrate or make decisions and so have been incapable of doing anything creative. Today I made my first card in months. Woohoo!
