So I made it into a white-on-white-layer card.
Love this! For anyone trying to duplicate it, it's sized a bit odd at 4 1/4" x 4 7/8" to have an even border around the panel.
Anyway, I used half of my fifth-to-the-last piece of Papertrey Stampers Select White Cardstock to make this card. I'm getting the shakes, folks. Oh! My! Gosh! What if I run out before the Man in Brown delivers my order? There are only three new packs coming. WHAT WAS I THINKING!?!?! Next order, I'm buying ten packs and will breathe easier.
For a month or two.
No, I don't have a problem. What makes you suggest such a thing?
Supplies
stamps: PTI Spiral Bouquet, Mega Mixed Messages
ink: VersaColor cinnamon (?), brown
paper: PTI
accessories: half-pearls, dimensionals
You make me giggle....love the card. Great way to use up those unfinished projects.
ReplyDeletethis is beautiful, of course
ReplyDeletei got my PTI order yesterday, no shipping notice, from the mailman, not smart arsed man in brown to comment on how many times a week he comes to my house LOL
Beautiful card! Love your style ... and your attitude. We're kindred spirits. :-)
ReplyDelete*SSSMMMMMooooch*
ReplyDeleteThank you for letting me know I'm not the only one. Drawers, bins, folders of yet-to-be-finished stuff. Love your beautiful and elegant card. Love your positive attitude - I'm with you. You'd be proud of me - I've now finished two "ribbon snips" cards and I rather like them.
I'm laughing - we are so alike - but I've never thought of myself as OCD, just uptight, controlling, etc, etc,
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card - I've never loved that stamp set (I have it though - I have a thing about completeness of collections!) but it looks beautiful here.
Mmmmm, I have that same kind of drawer (except it is a bin) with a ton of half-finished projects!! Good for you for pulling some out and using them (make a mental note that I must do that more often!). Question for you...when you create odd-sized cards, what do you do for envelopes?? and for the record, of course you don't have a problem...because if you do, then I do too and we can't have that!! LOL!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card...must pull out that set....
ReplyDeleteMmmmmmm I have a bin full of rejects but from now on they are works in progress (now doesn't that sound better!)
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely image - can't believe it got tossed first time round - and you have made it into a beautiful card.
No there is no problem with you, we love you as you are ;)
TFS
I love what you did with this image. I have this set and have had a hard time making anything I like with it. And I get the shakes when I am getting low on my white PTI card stock and my order hasn't arrived yet. I think we should have Nicole sell it by the ream! LOL
ReplyDeletePS - thanks for the lovely comment on my blog today! Hugs, Harriet
What a beautiful card. I love the white layer and the pearls.
ReplyDeleteIt must be Spring because at this very minute I am on a break from organizing a stamp drawer. I've already pulled a stamp out that I plan to use on some small giftcards. I also have a box of "half-finished" cards and piece-parts :)
So much better to find half-finished cards in a drawer than bent paperclips, expired coupons and bills!! Beautiful card - you know how I love your "white on white" skills!!
ReplyDeleteclean and pretty!
ReplyDeleteDonelda,
ReplyDeleteI just use a regular A2 envelope. My AR/OCD doesn't extend to having perfectly sized envelopes for cards, thank goodness. The envelopes end up in the trash, anyway, so I decided a while ago not to fret over it.
Marco's does have several standard sizes of envelopes that I keep on hand. I just pick whatever fits best. JulieHRR has a tutorial on her blog somewhere for adapting envelopes to hold a 4.25" square card, if you're interested.
Susan
Wow, this is simply stunning!
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely. Along with the stamps you want to sell, perhaps you could sell grab bags of your half finished cards? That would be fun!
ReplyDeleteLOL @ the shakes. So very funny. That man better get there soon!!!! I love the colors on this. And, of course, the pearls :)
ReplyDeleteI just mailed my first 25 cards to Operation Write Home. Thanks for mentioning it on your blog. It helped make a small dent in the pile of half-finished cards. My goal is to finish them all and OWH is such a good way to do it.
ReplyDeleteLove this! I have a UFO pile - UnFinished Objects. I aspire to actually USE them one day, very soon!
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of those part finished pieces too. I have a basket that I throw in the things I stamped, colored then changed my mind about what colors I wanted so it wouldn't work with my project. But I can't remember the last time I actually used one of those.
ReplyDeleteThis is really lovely. Those flowers are so fun.
Maybe you should ask PTI if they would sell their paper in bigger packages. I bet you are not the only one who uses tons of white.
This is amazingly crisp and lovely! You NEVER fail to impress me! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I like your paper crafting or writer's craft best. So hard to decide. Today was a good day for you all around.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful. I love the colors and the popped up panel.
ReplyDeleteI wish my scraps were always so beautiful and useful.
ReplyDeleteSoooo pretty, Susan...and of course I love all of your white space.
ReplyDeleteYou, my dear, are an inspiration to all crafters not only with the beautiful simply designed cards you make, but also with your humor and "clean out the overstocked, hoarded, out of sight-out of mind but need to be used" supplies. So glad I stumbled onto your blog!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! You never fail to inspire me! :-)
