Edited to add: As CO Crafter points out in the comments, Michael's glitter paper is THICK and I did break my holly punch using it. This MS punch went through fairly easily, though. Maybe I just got lucky. But if anyone knows of thinner glitter paper, please kindly tell the rest of us!!!!

ReplyDeleteWow, how were you ever able to punch glitter paper with a punch... especially one like that? I've only been able to find the really thick glitter paper at places like Michaels and Hobby Lobby and I don't think I'd even try to punch it with one of my larger EK punches that seem to be the sturdiest ones of all. Your card is lovely, by the way!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried glitter paper with a punch (Stampin' Up's is thinner so it might be better and it sparkles really really well!). I had some Michael's new glitter card that is so thick I wasn't even sure if I could cut it at all, but the nestabilities went right through it. I know (think) you don't have a cuttlebug, though.

Beautiful card! I've had some success with punches on the glitter paper by Best Creation found at scrapbook stores. And, I agree with Ardyth...the SU glitter paper is thinner and so incredibly sparkly. I also understand the glitter does not rub or flake off.
ReplyDeleteStampin Up has limited colors of glimmer paper (red and silver only), but it is thinner and can be punched out. Nice card, BTW.

ReplyDeleteI think I'm right in saying that American Crafts does an "ultra thin glitter paper" range. :) It's called American Crafts POW! Glitter Paper. Also, neat card! I love the huge sentiment.

ReplyDeleteStampin' Up's glimmer paper comes in a silver and red; beginning August 1st (Holiday catalog) they will have a champagne color. It is described as a cover weight paper. I have not tried it with punches myself, but I have seen many other people use it with punches.
ReplyDeleteI discovered that BULLETIN BOARD borders, the ones that are glittered, work well in punches - I did dozens of them using a Martha Stewart punch.
