Today is a YELLOW sort of day! Such a versatile color...soft and pretty or bright and sunny. Today, we're going soft and pretty with Prima flowers and soft green leaves.
This card uses Turning a New Leaf and Signature Greatings from PTI. The inks are VersaMagic chalk inks to keep the card extra soft. And of course there's a bit of bling on the flowers. Just because my Yellow Mojo would be incomplete without a little bling.
Contents:
1. Five lengths of ribbon, including rick rack, sheer, and grosgrain
2. Maya Road velvet flowers
3. Prima flowers
4. PTI buttons in two shades (one sort of greenish yellow)
5. Small brads in two shades
6. One package Hero Arts rhinestones
7. Two sizes of flat-back iridescent gems (thanks to twinkletoes' generosity; these are perfect for poinsettia centers on Christmas cards!)
Doesn't that look so happy and sunny and FUN!?!? Someone's going to have a great time playing with this goodness.
I have enjoyed reading all the answers to the rainbow question. Some of you have beautiful stories associated with them. I've seen a number of them myself, but two stand out as extra special: my first, which was over a bay near Charleston, South Carolina, when I was 16 years old, and another years later over the Buffalo Bill Scenic Highway on the way to the east gate of Yellowstone National Park. We pulled over so George could take a picture, and Nick, who was not yet four, said, "I slid down a rainbow once. It was kinda scary." I love that kid!
Today's Rainbow Mojo Question: What is a blessing you experienced in the last week?
Ooooh, I always struggle with yellow, but that pile of goodies does look really fun and happy!
ReplyDeleteAt work we threw a surprise baby shower for a good friend, and she was really touched that we went to all the effort to make her feel special. I was just so glad to be a part of it, because she deserves it so much!
Your card is so springy and beautiful. I think our cold winter days are finally over. On Monday I was blessed to celebrate 8 years of marriage to my best earthly friend - my dear husband. Since he is 89 and I am 66, we have no idea how much time we have left together so each day together is a blessing. He counts the months instead of years and this month was the 96th month. Within the blessing of that amount of time together are hundreds of other blessings.
ReplyDeleteLove the yellow stash! I would like to use yellow more because, you're right, it's bright and sunny!
ReplyDeleteA blessing this week...let's see...my bestie is having sort of a rough week, so I made a card for her. She thanked me and told me how it came at "just the right time." We are always there for each other at "just the right time", and have been for over 13 years. I am so blessed to have her!
Yellow is such a great color. It is a very happy color.
ReplyDeleteMy blessig in the past week isn't really a blessing; it is more of a joy to behold. All of my little crocus started blooming! They add such a suprise of color to the winter color of the woods. I love crocus!
My blessings each and every day are too numerous to count - my wonderful dh who is supportive of everything I do, my two children who make life interesting, my salvation, our health, no major family drama, etc. I am truly blessed. As for a specific blessing . . . .I am being blessed right now by my dh who is diligently spending all his free moments transforming my scrap space into something amazing.
ReplyDeleteYellow, I think it is the last color I'm struggling with a bit... But it makes me happy. And looks great on your card!
ReplyDeleteMy blessing this week is that one of my cards won a prize over at Hero Arts! I just couldn't believe it! So much talent over there in their flickr group and they've spotted my card... So encouraging!
Great card, as usual!
ReplyDeleteThis past week my daughter had a negative experience with her Psychology teacher at the local high school. I felt compelled to get involved and it wasn't fun. What I consider a blessing, is the fact that my 17year old still talks to me about her problems. Of course, she got mad at me for getting involved, but you can't win as a parent anyway, right?
Petra
What a lovely card....I agree...yellow is happy, springy and fun, just brightens your day.
ReplyDeleteI do feel blessed everyday, trying to make a difference in the lives of my little daycare people but I have to say my blessing this week was that my son who is 22 and suffers so much from a chronic illness had 3 good days where he could actually eat and not be throwing up. He is such a great kid and watching him suffer breaks my heart.
Thanks for reminding us to take some time and know that we are truly blessed!!
Such a fun and happy color - and a lovely card!
ReplyDeleteThis weeks blessing was a simple, uneventful well check appointment for my nearly 8 year old. That was a first!
Oh, yellow is so pretty -- it's my mom's favorite color! I've been blessed this week (and for lots of weeks) to have a very handy and generous dad, who has been helping us remodel our kitchen -- he's done nearly all the labor himself, and it's beautiful! (It's also nearly done, which is another blessing!)
ReplyDeleteWe are spending a few months in Florida, and so are my parents, 88 and 84. At home we are about 3 hours apart, but here, only about 20 minutes. So it is such a blessing to me to be able to see them several times a week. And we are all so blessed that their health is good.
ReplyDeleteLove these sunny yellows, thanks so much for the chance to win!
It's so refreshing to see all your yellow goodies all gathered together in one place ... and the rainbow theme makes me think of Spring! Yay! Spring's on it's way! And that's my blessing this past week ... that I now hear the birds chirping in the morning!
ReplyDeleteThanx for the inspiration AND blog candy opp!
Such a pretty and cheerful card! The
ReplyDeleteyellow adds the much needed, promise
of spring.
I am a Clinical Social Worker, working in an elementary school. This week, I was blessed to receive feedback from a parent about how much better her son is feeling. Also, I feel blessed to help some children that might otherwise not receive services.
Thanks for a chance to win.
I love your card. Yellow is a color that I am using more lately. Never could find a yellow that worked for me...until I found PTI Lemon Tart. It is simply perfect.
ReplyDeleteA blessing for me in the last week? I teach in the same school where my kindergartener attends. I passed him in the hall yesterday and he YELLED, "I love you, Mom!" Totally melted my heart.
This past week was the anniversary of my moms passing...always a difficult time of year. I am grateful for the love of family and kind words about how my mom was a blessing to those around her. God is good.
ReplyDeleteLoving the yellow! I would have to say my children are my blessing (even if i don't feel like they are sometimes!) and hearing my 2 year old son say "Mummy, gorgeous" this week reminded me of how much of a blessing they are!
ReplyDeleteEvery day I look at your card and think oh this is my favorite one so far - but today I really mean it - love the yellow!
ReplyDeleteI locked my keys, phone, purse in my car this week while dropping my dog off at the groomer's. I felt like an idiot but the shop owners were wonderful. I had a warm place to hang out and the groomer's husband handled everything and got my car open for me. Nobody would accept any $$ so I returned to pick up my dog with a hand made card and homemade dipped gingersnaps!
Yippie, I have everything to CASE that gorgeous card; everything but the ultra-mojo of Susan of course, so it won't be exactly copied....but close.
ReplyDeleteWe live atop a mountain and the orientation of our house is such that I got to watch the full moon setting in the West and the sun rising in the East, both at the same time, while standing in the corner of the kitchen waiting for the coffee to perk one morning. Such blessings are like full-arched rainbows...reminders of God's amazing artistry that dips and soars throughout our lives.
Oh your yellow looks gorgeous on the card you have for us today! This design is beautiful! The greatest blessing I encountered this week was when a friend of my daughter's asked her if she would disciple her! I am so very proud of my daughter's faith and knowledge of God's word that someone else recognizes it as well. She is one of my greatest blessings!
ReplyDeleteSpring. Yellow=spring. and I am ready for it. Your card is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I took my elderly parents out for a steak dinner. My Dad ate more than I have seen him eat in a looong time. And they both talked about how much they enjoyed the food during the entire trip home. What a blessing that we could do this...we treasure the time we have with them.
My children just have such great teachers, and I was at the school on my assigned days, and my son's teacher said some sweet words to me that really made my whole week. The blessing of education is a big one to me, and to know my children experience that now, too, is awesome!
ReplyDeleteYellow...a touch of sunshine that reminds you spring truly is just around the corner! Every day is a blessing even though I don't always act like it. Dh didn't put me in the doghouse this week after a really big craft store trip so that's a huge blessing - b/c I see another trip coming in a few weeks! Ack!
ReplyDeleteWe are so blessed this week to have our 24 yo son home for awhile helping with some big home improvement and repair projects: finally-finishing-after-25-years! Your sunny yellow card is so cheerfully, simply amazing!
ReplyDeleteI loved how your yellow card turned out. It is so cheerful.
ReplyDeleteI have such wonderful friends and family that are helping me out while I am on the mend with a broken ankle.
Such a lovely card! You are such a talent.
ReplyDeleteI run errands for my mom every Wednesday night after work. This week there was a driving rain, and she didn't want to shop. Instead, we went out to dinner and by the time I got her and her walker out of the car and into the restaurant, we were soaked. We giggled like schoolgirls all through dinner. I'm so lucky to have a mom who is a friend.
rehearsals started this week for our annual gospel concert. this is an amazing group of musicians, and our director is so special and inspired. the choir is a diverse collection of singers which is always special, and i love the music and our chance to share with the community.
ReplyDeletethis card is wonderful. love yellow flowers, especially springtime!
The yellow card reminds me of sunshine. I'm so glad we have some this week and the temps are in the 40s. I'll take whatever I can get.
ReplyDeleteBlessing: My grand-daughter, Alora. She's such a spit-fire, but so loving and caring.
Love your card! I say that every day, but it's true every day!
ReplyDeleteMy blessing this week was a friend who e-mailed me unexpectedly to praise the way I am handling things as an officer in a women's service group we are both in. She really encouraged me and lifted me up.
My blessing this week is finding a new doctor for my son. He's had several medical issues and it's been tough to find a doctor who is willing to pursue things to find the answers but also weighs all the testing with making sure that we get the answers we need, not just tests. Given the series of pediatricians and specialists over the last 3 years, it is a relief feeling like we might finally get somewhere. So a huge blessing in our family's life.
ReplyDeleteMy granddaughter is turning three in a couple of weeks and her sister will be one in June. There is nothing as wonderful as when the two of them start laughing! It comes straight from their belly. Being part of that laughter was one of my blessings this past week.
ReplyDeleteEveryday feels like a blessing for me with my 17month old and my dear husband.
ReplyDeleteI've been especially blessed this week by friends that encourage me in my crafty pursuits. They are honest, helpful and fun. I love those girls.
ReplyDeleteDiane M
aka detour3
I would say the blessing for this week is "sunshine"!!! This has been such a cold, snowy, miserable winter that seeing the sun shining just perks you up and makes you feel better and that's what a blessing is!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a real fan of yellow but the card you made today is absolutely beautiful and inspires me to use yellow. Thanks for letting me try and win your "yellow goodies"!
I love this happy, yellow card. It is a color I don't use often but should probably use more.
ReplyDeleteMy older son turned 21 yesterday. My blessing is the many years of joy he has provided us. I so enjoy the person he has become.
Love the soft, springy feel of this card! I think the 'trick' to using yellow is to use it sparingly. Just a pop, and you get a wow!
ReplyDeleteMy tangible blessing this week was finding out our tax refund is almost enough to pay the property taxes! My heart blessing is my family and dear friends...
Lu C
What an uplifting card to go along with your question to us.
ReplyDeleteMy blessing this week - and probably for the month - is that my dad made it through his surgery on Thursday. There are many more steps to go in his surgical recovery and battle with cancer, but this can be checked off the list with gratitude. And the oncologist told my dad that golf is in his near future. And that was probably the best news since golfing is my dad's vocation in retirement. (To put this in perspective, think of never being able to stamp again.)
Thank you for the chance to win some bling and for sharing a part of you with us each day.
i had the greatest blessing this week - my son-in-law has been unemployed since september and he got a wonderful job offer this week. HOORAY!!!! my prayers were answered - now i am saying many "thank you god" prayers. love your card - turning a new leaf is one of my favorite pti stamps.
ReplyDeleteSusan, I just LOVE today's card! It's way up there on my list of favorites of your cards. The softness of the whole thing --- the colors, the flowers, even the sentiment --- just really appeals to me. Are those chalk inks that different from regular ink? It appears so on this beautiful card. I wish I'd have made it.......but guess what! --- I now can (if I get some chalk inks, that is)! The biggest blessing I received this week was just this morning. My wonderful MIL, whom I've loved dearly for 42 years now, fell this morning, and didn't break anything. She checked out fine in the emergency room. She's 99, and an unbelievably sweet and loving person. I am blessed!
ReplyDeleteMy blessing this week was having a great dinner on my birthday with my son. He paid, but that wasn't the blessing. Just spending the time with him was great.
ReplyDeleteThis morning I was able to help a friend pack for her move back to Seattle. Last night I had the thought to put some cards together that I have in my stash for her. Now she has a half dozen assorted cards with envelopes and stamps to send to her friends!
ReplyDeleteYou are truly amazing. Your cards look so simple but it's how you put it together that it becomes so very elegant. Love your yellow prima flower card! I was blessed this past week by something a new blogging friend did. I am truly blessed by all the friends I have made in blogland!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card! I am so loving yellow! It is a great reminder that Spring is just around the corner, with lots and lots of Bright (yellow) sunshiny days ahead!
ReplyDeleteMy best blessing this week was to receive an email my daughter forwarded to me from my little brother! He was telling our children what great parents they have (we just celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary on Feb 1). They were wanting to spend lots of money on us and he told them that they didn't need to do that with the times being as they are, just tell us and show us their love by small and simple things. And he was so right. They created a beautiful 50th Album for us that is beyond price!
this card is so buttery and yummy. Quite beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe blessing that stands out the most this week is a little peculiar. My daughter is sick with a fever and ear infection. She's had one every month for the past 5 months. It's frustrating, but as I was rocking her sweet little self last night I realized how blessed we are that she is really a healthy kid.
Getting to have lunch with my best friend.
ReplyDeletemy blessing this week has been my family who came for a stay we had s lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteI have spent lots of quality time with my husband, playing a new board game.
ReplyDeleteI have had multiple blessings this week that really stand out: I had my first root canal, which doesn't sound like a blessing but went SO amazingly well that I am counting it as a blessing! I also won a $100 g/c to Panera! Quite a week...
ReplyDeleteIn the past two weeks I've had five wonderful things happen to me ($50 G/C for SU that I split with my friend Trish, Pro Bono attorney of the Year, free haircut because I donated my ponytail to Locks of Love, won a drawing for a free lunch at my favorite cafe across the street from lunch, and got a favorable decision from our state Supreme Court en banc, reversing the lower court). I'm hoping for one more so I can say I got a touchdown! Life is good!
ReplyDeleteNance in Reno
awesome goodies... Only blessings this week is the weather is warming up!!!!
ReplyDeleteYellow is my favourite colour it is bright and sunny and can warm the heart.
ReplyDeleteMy Grandma turned 90 this work and I feel blessed she is still in my life.
Jamie
Yellow is so sunny and fun on cards. :)
ReplyDeleteA week ago today I found out that I'm pregnant! I'm a little nervous because I lost a baby (miscarriage, not misplaced) in November. And I'm very early along, of course, but I'm also VERY excited and feel so blessed
I had some good girl-friend times this week. And although we are now 3 for 3 in the sickness department at our house - I guess I'll look at it is a blessing to a) get it all done at once and b) spend some quality down time as a family.
ReplyDeleteYellow is my favorite color! So cheery and warm...
ReplyDeleteI have felt blessed to have some creative time this past week. I got to make a birthday card for my Mom (turning 88) and play with my Copics on some butterflies I will save for making cards.
DeniseB
I just had a wonderful day with extended family to celebrate an aunt's retirement. I call that a HUGE blessing!
ReplyDeleteI always love your cards and this one is not exception. My blessing this week is that my husband received a better than expected result on a medical test he had. There are still issues but we were both thankful for this good note.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely spring-like card.
ReplyDeleteI just finished playing "bananagrams" (a fun scrabble-like word game -- look for it!) with my 8-old-granddaughter. She is so good at it! She has no problem having a competitive game with her crossword-loving, teacher-librarian grandma!
My blessing this week is that my DH got his call-back letter from work! He gets laid off every winter, so it wasn't anything unusual, but with the economy the way it is, we were a bit worried! Beautiful card Susan! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful combination that I am sure to try in the very near future.
ReplyDeleteWe experienced some wild weather last week here in NH and all around up were uprooted trees and smashed roofs while we experienced just a slightly bent fence. I feel most blessed by our good fortune.
Health. My brother is going through prostrate cancer. I am blessed to have my health.
ReplyDelete...LOVE THE YELLOW!!! 2 of my close relatives are in different hospitals,a 1200 miles apart, both had surgery this week and both are improving daily! yea!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love yellow! It's so cheery!
ReplyDeleteI have been blessed with the greatest best friend and sister, ever. These two lovely ladies planned my 30th birthday party (which was last week) at a local steakhouse. Lots of my friends and family gathered for a great dinner, cake, drinks and my favorite... karaoke! Everyone had such a fun time. They put so much thought into every little detail (including decorating my car while I was eating!).
I never had parties growing up. But my best friend and my sister made sure my 30th went down in the history books as one to remember. I love them so very much.
Suzanne
Beautiful card! My son and daughter-in-law paid a surprise visit.
ReplyDeleteI just found out today that I was featured for a challenge I entered, and guess what, it was to use YELLOW! I love participating in challenges because it makes me try out new and interesting things, and it is so nice to be honored. That is a great blessing!
ReplyDeleteWow! This is such a beautiful card!
ReplyDeleteI receive a very large RAK this week from a stamping idol of mine...who does not stamp much anymore sadly...but it was such a wonderful surprise! :0)
This may sound strange, but I'm grateful my baby (11 months) came down with another runny nose on Monday night. She's ruptured her left eardrum twice since the beginning of the year. Each followed a runny nose by just a day or two. I'm grateful I thought to take her in to the dr. to have him see if her eardrum was healing from the 2nd rupture. She had another ear infection. So, I was able to get her on another antibiotic before her eardrum ruptured yet again. It was such a blessing to get her on the antibiotic sooner rather than later this time around.
ReplyDeleteI was able to remediate a project gone bad, and the project owner sent me flowers. That special thank you was really needed right now.....so I considered that a blessing.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all that you do!
My blessing wss that my son informed me I have a new grandson. They were approved for their adoption of Amanuel who is in Ethiopia. I can't wait to meet him - he's 3 years old.
ReplyDeleteNancy D.
I love yellow because it always adds a little sunshine to anything it's on. I really like how your card is otherwise simple and elegant but the three yellow flowers make it shine.
ReplyDeleteThis has not been a great week for me in many ways, but I did finally talk my boss into giving me the raise I have been asking for (and deserve!) which went into effect this week. Having some extra money to pay for the gas to get to work is a blessing for me.
Last week my 7 month old grand-daugher, Aubrey, had to have a MRI of her spine to see if she had a tethered spinal cord. It was a huge blessing this week to find out that she DOES NOT have a tethered spinal cord and will not have to have surgery on her spine. Aubrey brings sunshine (yellow) to my life everyday.
ReplyDeleteMy blessing this week was my dh taking my dad to his eye apt and later going for coffee and taking him for groceries. My mum passed away this past june 1. and I am an only. I have been very busy as I work full time and I was off on dads surgery day but dh took him anyway and then spent time with him. AWESOME and I had some time to myself on my day off!
ReplyDeleteYellow makes me so grateful for spring.
ReplyDeleteFor about 2 years 11 women that I was in school with for 12 years gather each month for lunch and fun. This week most of us were able to gathered in support and comfort for one of us who lost her 39 year old son. We are all so blessed that we live near each other. At this time in our lives, we are losing our parents, spouses, and other loved ones. I love these women. They give me strength when I need it and I am able to help them also. What a wonderful blessing!!!!!
So many blessings this past week. but 2 that really stand out are a week of sunshine and ttemps in the 30's and also my 9 year old grand-daughter tellind me how much she missed me and loved me.
ReplyDeleteOh, you do such pretty things with yellow!
cindyb
It is strange but I never used to like yellow & now I find it refreshing. A blessing that we had this last week was that our pet ferret, Hannah, had to have exploratory surgery & thank goodness the vet found no cancer!! We don't have any "real" kids; all ours have fur. Collette katshon66@aol.com
ReplyDeleteYellow is such a sunny happy color! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI truly feel blessed every day! We are blessed with our health, our home, having the necessities that we need daily, and just having another day of life to praise God for all the wonderful things He does for us each and every day! Most of all I am thankful for the gift of His son, Jesus. Without Him, where would we be?
The yellow adds such a fresh and happy feel to the card.
ReplyDeleteI love yellow in that it reminds me of sunny days.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of sunny days, I felt so blessed that Friday and Saturday were warm enough that I wore sandals for the first time since fall. Though it has already rained this morning. lol...
Thanks for the giveaway!
My greatest blessing was being able to make and send a card congratulating an Air Force Lt. Colonel on his recent promotion. Oh, and receiving an unexpected email from a friend. And getting a speeding ticket...
ReplyDeleteI just love your spring-like card.
ReplyDeleteMy greatest blessing was having our DS come and visit us. It is really a blessing because he has moved closer and takes wonderful care of my husband(who is in ill health) and me.
Just like today's rainbow color, my blessing was sunshine, 4 purple crocus that peaked through the snow and the smell of grass, earth and air on my doggie because he finally spent most of the day outside. We still have a few mounds of snow but this weekend has been gorgeous and reminds that spring is on its way.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your giveaway. I am so inspired by your creatins!
Yellow - it always just seems crisp and refreshing to me!
ReplyDeleteMy blessing? Getting 2 hours of sleep (in a row!) with my 7 week old twins that was a true blessing to this exhausted mom!
Great blessing this week was visiting my 14-month-old granddaughter. I pushed her stroller to the park, which I love because it helps me walk for longer. And her giggles as I push her on the baby swing are the best sounds on earth!
ReplyDeleteAnd reading all these other people's blessings, rainbow stories, favorite colors--they've been real blessings, too. Thank you, Susan, for hosting this party!
