Inscribed

I decided before my new Papertrey set arrives I need to clear out the new stamp basket. In it was this sentiment stamp I picked up on sale at Hobby Lobby. I loved the message but wasn't sure what image to pair it with.

Then I remembered this pen from Letters to Friends, an old StampinUp vintage set that I simply can't part with, even if it's vintage. You see, I used to collect fountain pens and still use them occasionally when I think to put ink in them.

So I settled on this very simple layout using softer colors for the pen and crisp black for the sentiment.

We are each of us inscribed on the palm of his hand. Which is rather a comforting thought, don't you think?

Supplies
stamps: Stampabilities, StampinUp
ink: Memento
paper: Papertrey white
accessories: stamp postitioner

  1. Yes, it is comforting, Susan to know our lives are in God's hands. Your wonderful cards have me wishing for a hobby lobby in my green state...I would have picked that sentiment too.

  5. All your cards are wonderful but this is truly amazing! To pair this old fountain pen with the verse is inspired, then the layout with the pen on the first line. It's gorgeous!

  7. It is indeed a comforting thought.

Although they are all lovely cards, I like the soft, soothingness (is that even a word??) of the blue the best.

  8. Lovely card. It would be so simple to make a set with these since it's different each time the pen ink color is changed.

  10. Love that verse and yes, it is comforting to know that we're inscribed on the palm of his hand. I probably wouldn't have bought that stamp, simply because I couldn't have figured out how to use it on a card...but your card is perfect! I love the pen stamp and it's perfect with the sentiment! Awesome card, Susan.

  17. C'mon, you wouldn't part with a stamp set just because it's not the latest thing out there, would you? ;) Not when you can use it to create great cards such as these, anyway...

  21. I have that scripture verse stamp too! I often use it inside cards, because I'm not sure what to pair it with. I'm going to have to look at all my stamp sets now, to see if there's something that I never saw as appropriate...

  24. I also have a small fountain pen collection and the Stampin Sisters in Christ blog had Vintage as their challenge this week. I haven't been in to stamp a card yet but this is the stamp that came to my mind. Thanks for sharing it with this wonderful verse.
