For the past two days, the weather here in Ohio has felt positively primavera. Low 60s (Farenheit, not Celsius), sunshine, birds singing enthusiastically. It looks like winter outside, with bare trees and dormant grass (or, in our yard, rampant mud), but tt doesn't feel like winter.
It feels weird.
Where's our snow?
I know I should be careful what I ask for, but my children are so sad that they haven't had a single snow day this year. They want to sled, and make snow angels and snow cream and snow men, and help their dad shovel snow.
So here's a card to celebrate winter. Obviously, someone in the world is having it. Just not us.
Supplies
stamps: A Muse (tree), Hero Arts (shadow, discontinued), Papertrey (sentiment, Holiday Treats)
ink: SU (real red), Memento (blue)
paper: Papertrey
accessories: half pearls, corner chomper
Red tree - love it! And I continue to pray for you and your family.
ReplyDeleteVery cool card, Susan - I love the shadow! Prayers and best wishes to Nick and your family, also.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty card, and so well put together. Love the HA swish, and wish they still carried it. The 3 blings of "snow" are perfect. Great card, Susan.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this! The colours are great together. I really like how 'warmest' sits on the blue in as well as the tree trunk nestled IN the snow, not just sitting on top. And the pearls are a lovely finishing touch. The perfect inspirational card with my tea after work. Thanks Susan!

Praying for everything to be alright with your son.
ReplyDeleteTake care, and thanks for all the sharing you do here on your blog.

Not knowing about your son is the most frustrating and stressful part, I am sure. I hope all will be well.
ReplyDeleteOn the snowfront, we've got a Texas Panhandle low here, and are awaiting 10-12 inches with wind. Joy! Fortunately I had already applied for a vacation day tomorrow-psychic? I'd be glad to send it your way.....
love the colour combo were not getting any snow in england either (midlands)its so sad but apparently we're due for snow storms and -5c for the weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove this! The touch of snow to ground the tree and the pearls of falling snow are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Susan, I love the wavy shadow.

I love this card! The three pearls of "snow" make me think of those very very cold days when just the odd flake of snow drifts down.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for Nick.
I love the tree! But I have to ask, what is your secret for getting such a nice dark solid image? Every time I try using a solid stamp like this, (especially when using a clear stamp, even Hero Arts), it ends up blotchy and uneven.
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous xx
ReplyDeleteI've just discovered your blog and it is AMAZING! Such wonderful clean cards. Thanks for sharing. Belz xx
