And now to the cards. Another design element that crops up repeatedly in 1,000 Bags, Tags, and Labels is the dividing line between two elements (often an image and some text). I riffed on that idea in the following cards, using a stem from Green Thumb by Papertrey (PTI) for my dividing line.
PTI butterfly set, SU Define Your Life |
Clear and Simple Limited Edition Thinking of You Set, PTI Beautiful Blooms |
PTI Masculine Motifs (globe), SU Define Your Life |
This is such a great, clean design, and obviously very flexible depending on your images and sentiments.
How could you use what you have to get the dividing line look?
Supplies
ink: Memento
paper: PTI white and, for the last card, natural
accessories: post it to mask the line as needed.
WOW!! Such a simple concept and such a graphic impact!! This is why we keep coming back time and time again to your blog, Susan!
ReplyDeleteOh, how I love these!
ReplyDeleteWonderful technique - love the design. Again, thanks, Susan.
ReplyDeleteLove this! I use this kind of vertical rule all the time at work (graphic design) and I adore how you have translated it into stamping!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! It is amazing what a statement you are able to make with just one layer. Thank you for the inspiration.
ReplyDeletelove these!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards, Susan! I particularly like the thinking of you card, probably because of the larger font/fewer words. Another idea I shall be borrowing!
ReplyDeleteWill definately be trying this. So simple but it has such an impact.
ReplyDeleteWow - now that is a brilliant design element! It's amazing how such a simple touch can make such a huge difference. Definately going to add that to my crafting arsenal.
ReplyDeleteHow clever! I like the idea of an image and definition, and particularly like your last card with the globe. Great Idea! You are so good at transferring any creativity to cards. These are wonderful, something I'd never have thought of, and really eye-catching. Great job!
ReplyDeleteCard Sets! This would be awesome with different colors for the graphic and different sentiments too. Thank you, Thinking of You, Sympathy!!! Love how simple it is; and yet lots of impact.
ReplyDeleteYour cards are great! I like the one in the middle with the little gem in the middle of the flowers and in the very exact colour that matches, too!
ReplyDeleteGreetings from a daily follower,
La Vikinga
You just ROCK! :)
ReplyDeleteWho's week is it for OLW??? I have time and I wanna play~
Great cards! I appreciate these ideas so much because I have Define Your Life...."needed" it....hunted it down on Ebay....and it has remained uninked in my household.
ReplyDeleteMust make myself use it and these ideas will help!
And to think that I passed on the chance to get that SU Define Your Life stamp set. Great way to use it.
ReplyDeleteThese are great! And I completely forgot about several "definition" stamps like these hanging around in my stash -- I think I'll give them some love!
ReplyDeleteI think these are just great--very clever of you! I particularly like the last one. I'm excited to try this out with my own stamps now.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have any definition stamps, but you've implemented them perfectly with the image and graphic dividing line. I'd use the line exactly like you did (since I like to CASE just about everything you do) -- if I had some definition stamps. I'll be on the lookout for some. VERY cool!
ReplyDeleteVery clever! I LOVE LOVE the thinking of you one!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so clever anxious to try this!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant design :)
