Peace, love, and purple.
Although I really enjoy being creative with Modern Basics, this very basic flower is the reason I bought the set in the first place. It's is so very flexible. I've made poinsettias for Christmas cards, Easter cards, get well cards, thinking of you cards, etc. All you have to do is vary the colors and sentiment. It's a quick, go-to design that I will go to again and again and again.
But I think this is the first time I stamped the smaller petals inside the larger ones. At least, it felt like the first time, the very first time.
So to speak.
Now, I've been trying to use more purple. I don't have anything against purple, but I rarely use it in stamping. I have no idea why. Do you have a color you rarely use? Do you have a reason for not using it?
Inquiring minds and all that....

ReplyDeleteGorgeous!! Hugs Ankie
ReplyDeleteGreat CAS card, wonderful design.
ReplyDeleteLove this shape. Would love this stamp set. I find it very difficult to stamp with orange - just NOT my colour - such a blue/green person. Melon could be possible though but I don't have that ink colour.
ReplyDeleteNice card! I love purple. I find that I seldom use orange and yellow. I don't have a reason to not use them, but I seldom do.
ReplyDeleteI love purple and I think this looks marvelous. I don't use much orange...no reason, I just don't use it.
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of funny I don't use purple much either although I love the color. When I first started stamping I didn't think I liked the fall colors (orange, yellow, olive green) but they have become almost go to colors. It's good to change things up a bit to get out of our ruts.
ReplyDeleteLove all the ways you've used this stamp set over the months! The colours I'm least likely to use are orange and purple - I guess because they are my least favourite colours! Give me blue, red, yellow, pink, and green any day and I can use them easily and happily.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card design and layout for a stack of cards to give to a friend! TFS!
ReplyDeleteI don't use purple that often, Usually only on my daughter's cards. I think that it is a very pretty color; I don't know why I don't use it. Pinks, Oranges, and greens are my favorites. Then reds, browns, yellows and blues are used. Then purple.
ReplyDeleteI can see why you like this stamp set so much. I've really enjoyed all the cards you've made with it lately.
ReplyDeleteI love using color and can't really think of a color I don't enjoy using depending on the situation. I will say that I generally prefer medium to bright or deep rich colors and don't seem to use pale colors much at all. It follows what I feel more comfortable wearing. I've always preferred brights or deep rich colors rather than pastels.
I agree with Colorado Crafter; I don't use pastels much. Not sure why they just aren't my favorite. Specifically, I don't use pink all that much. Could be because I only have one child of the male variety; or that I've always been more of a tomboy and never a "girly-girl".
ReplyDeleteBeautiful layered flowers. The only rare color for me is gray. I tell myself it's just another neutral, but it's hard for me to use on cards. Not sure why.
ReplyDeleteLovely card! Funny... I do mostly purple and blue cards! My least favorite? Orange! Darned if I can come up with anything other than fall things with orange and I don't make too many fall cards!

ReplyDeletebeautiful! shamefully, I bought this back in February and I think I might have used it only once ... but then I took a big crafting break ... and now I'm back so maybe I should pull this one out. thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeoud card and you are definitely inspiring me to buy this set Susan! I love purple and often use a dark purple and lime green combo.
ReplyDeleteI'm another one that doesn't use purple much, although I've had spurts of using SU's plum cardstock; my pastel cardstock doesn't often get used either..,
ReplyDeleteLove all the Modern Basics posts. It's great to see the varity in any given set. Wonderful idea.
ReplyDeleteOK...I just commented on another post that I'm "iffy" on purple, and here you go showing a purple card I really like. Still not a complete convert, but I must say I like it a lot.
