Pretty Poinsettia
This card represents what CAS is all about. Strong focal point image, a little something special, as little as possible to convey the message.
The poinsettia was stamped after inking all over with VersaColor cardinal and then rock-and-rolled with VersaColor burgundy. I cut it out (the hardest part of this card), and popped it up on a PTI white base stamped with the flourish from Silent Night. The sentiment, from Signature Christmas, is stamped in palette Noir. For that something special, I glued a flat-back yellow gem (one of a bunch sent to me by the very kind Twinkletoes) to the poinsettia.
Simplicity Tip: For cutting out the poinsettia, I found it easiest to use a craft knife and cut triangles out for each petal tip, always pulling the craft knife toward me. This was much faster than trying to use little scissors, but it does take some good fine motor control and a sharp knife to hit the point of the triangle perfectly on the second cut.
Supplies
stamps: PTI Peaceful Poinsettia, Silent Night, Signature Christmas
ink: Versacolor cardinal, burgundy, evergreen
paper: PTI white
accessories: yellow gem, dimensionals
