If you're in the dark about yesterday's card, you're not alone. Apparently, there are plenty of people who don't watch the hit show called The Big Bang Theory...the funniest show about geeks EVER.
Yes, I am a geek.
The Big Bang Theory is a sitcom centered on four scientists (Sheldon, Leonard, Howard, and Raj), each with his own unique set of issues, and the women in their lives (Amy, Penny, Bernadette, and whomever Raj is dating). My favorite thing about the show is how these mostly messed-up human beings form a group and love and support each other despite (and sometimes because of) their quirks and oddities.
Plus, it's geeky and funny and it has Sheldon.
Yesterday's card was inspired by a Halloween costume from the show's first season. The costume, worn by lead character Dr. Sheldon Cooper, is a visual depiction of the Doppler Effect. Sheldon is a theoretical physicist, and the following video shows outtakes from the show relating to the costume.

ReplyDeleteI love that show. I studied math so these are my people. I missed this episode however and I think it is the best source of inspiration for a card I have ever seen.
ReplyDeleteNot to be a party pooper but I am not really a big fan of the show. However I do know that Penny is supposed to be from Nebraska and have seen the ep about her watch Husker Football! Go Big Red! :)

ReplyDeleteHa! As soon as I saw the card I thought of Sheldon!! Last night (while re-watching several episodes from season 3, I told the boys about the card. My oldest then informed us about the Doppler Effect. And also some other theory the show was discussing. We obviously like geeks in this household!! HA!
ReplyDeleteLove your card! It must have been harder to make than it looks, but it's striking. I have it pinned to be a future birthday card for my brother-in-law, a high school physics teacher. :) Somehow I know mine will not look as great as yours!
