"Who Are You and What Have You Done with Susan?"

"Can it be?"

"Would she really?"

"Oh my gosh...colored card stock!?!?"

YES!!!

It looks strange, doesn't it? Totally unexpected.

But as I was clearing out my ribbon stash, tossing a bunch that will never get used into my "get rid of" box, I found just enough of this delightful blue satin for a single card and decided to use it.

The raised panel looked weird on a white base. Oh, yes. I tried. But the card needed more color than just the ribbon to unify it. Now, the colors are more balanced, and that fabulous sentiment (Clearly Besotted, I think) shines.

Just because I don't use colored card stock often doesn't mean I don't use it at all.

And that ribbon is GONE. It felt good to use something up.

Not to mention a half sheet of bashful blue card stock.

Go, me!

Are you using stuff up? Have you stepped outside your comfort zone this year yet? If not, give it a try!

Supplies
stamps: Clearly Besotted
ink: Memento Luxe tuxedo black

  1. The blue card stock is perfect with the white panel and that gorgeous bow, Susan. The sentiment is glorious - the fonts are so striking.

  2. The coloured card stock didn't shock me but the big bow certainly did! It looks beautiful. As for me, I'm so working on using my stash. I'm looking at making my Valentines with glee. That uses up a ton of scraps, Stickles, and recycled rubber for making the ATC cards and pencil toppers.

  4. I think it's great you went out of your comfort zone and used up the ribbon! My going out of my comfort started back in Oct. when I took a few classes from Dyan Reaveley and started a journal....believe me I'm not a journaler or a scrapbooker but I do like how she makes backgrounds with lots of inks. you can stop by my blog- http://stampingsueinconnecticut.blogspot.com/ to see some of my journal pages....they are a work in progress.

  6. Go Susan! It was worth it stepping out of the comfort zone & I love that feeling when you truly use something up & can finally throw away the packaging (maybe not with your ribbon).

I am on a huge use it up spree, was delighted to throw away a packet last week...it only contained the one item but I was delighted nonetheless! x
