A Little or a Lot...Depends on One's Mood

Sometimes you want a little,

Sometimes, you want a lot...of grass, that is.

The top card keeps a tight focal point, with all three elements close together while the second spreads everything out in a leisurely scene. The pop of a warm color heightens the energy of the first card while the cool, soft colors of the second are more serene. The sentiment font of the first is clean and loopy, but tidy, while the handwritten "You" is loose and wandering...a bit like the butterfly's flight.

Which are you in the mood for?

I'll send these cards to two randomly chosen readers who leave a comment on this post. (Comments on Facebook will not be included in the random drawing.) Just tell me which card you prefer. Deadline for the drawing is midnight, EST, Wednesday, February 3, 2016.

Let's hear it for happy mail!!!!!

  1. Both cards are great Susan! I would choose the second one because turqiouse is my favourite colour (and I am not very keen to red).

    Thanks for Sharing!

  2. I love the little square of grass. All that white space ... I breath!

  3. The second one floats my boat! Reminds me of summer days of my youth, laying on the grass looking at the sky :)

  4. I prefer the first one, it forms a square in the centre which is a really powerful focal point

  5. The second one is my choice. It reminds me of picnics and summer fun!

  6. I prefer the second layout because it makes me want to flutter with the butterfly and not be couped up in a small square! Maybe if the colours of the butterflies were changed, it would create a different feel?

  7. The first one. Just a little bit of spring. So simple to the eye.

  8. While both are great, I prefer the first card. Tight focal point and I love the white space.

  10. Ah, love the grass and summertime feeling of both. Now I'll have to make a card with my grass die today! The 2nd card is my favorite with a broader landscape and more sky for the butterfly to roam. Thanks for showing both examples!

  12. I love them both, but I love white space so my favorite is the first one.

  13. Oh, so hard to choose. Love the colors on the second one, but LOVE the closeness of the first one. I'll pick the 2nd one, I think. Thank you for sharing your talent.

  15. Love them both. You are magical with CAS.
I like the first card especially because of the perfect focus point
in the midst of all the white space!!
    Thanks for the inspiration, Susan!

  16. Second card is better balanced...IMHO of course. Butterfly seems too large for that small plot of grass in the first card.

  17. I like the second card best because I feel it is more pleasing to the eye. Thanks for all you do, Susan.

  19. I love both. I love how the sentiments look on each card. You are the Queen of Wonderful White Space ... or you can be Supreme Ruler if you prefer :)

  20. My favorite of the two is the red one...sigh, the red just makes me happy!

  21. Although I love both cards, I prefer the second one. I can imagine stretching out on the grass, looking up at the sky and watching the butterfly gently fly on by. It's been snowing all day here and we already have a good 7 inches so your cards are a wonderful sign that spring will get here.... eventually.

  22. Perhaps if anyone else were asking this question I would say the bottom card with the long and leisurely scene. But since it is you and you are known for much CAS along with clean, tight focal points I have to say the top card. That one really speaks to me.

  23. Love your POV on these two cards - both are gorgeous and it is amazing how they can be used in drastically different ways. For me, while I love both cards, the first card totally captivates me as I love the focal point in the center of the card as your eye is immediately drawn to the hello as a result of the little strip of grass and the charming butterfly.

Happy mail is always a wonderful thing!!

  25. The second card makes me want to open my arms and run in the sunshine. The first makes me smile and look out the window, thinking of the someone who sent it to me. How to choose between those 2 wonderful feelings? Can't!
