I couldn't hurt its feelings, could I?
Problem is, this stamp is HUGE! I made an okay card with the whole image (might show that some other time, but really, it's nowhere near as cool as this card!). Then, the idea popped in my head to stamp it off the side and use the large coffee sentiment from PTI's Warm Happiness set.
The band on the cup is pieced with SU mellow moss cardstock, and I stamped the word "coffee" in mellow moss as well. I cut out the whole band, attached it to the card, then cut off the excess with long scissors. Otherwise, this card is as simple as it looks.
I think I need a cup of coffee.
Supplies
stamps: Hero Arts, Papertrey Warm Happiness
ink: Palette dark chocolate, SU mellow moss
paper: PTI white, SU mellow moss
accessories: scissors, glue
I don't like coffee (I know, I'm a freak!) and have never understood these coffee cards, but this one is really, really great! I'm tempted to buy the stamp! (Seriously, these companies should be paying you commission!)
ReplyDeleteVery cool!! LOVE it off to the side like you have it...I LOVE coffee too and I am drinking it right now while reading checking out your blog :D
ReplyDeleteJust like Cookie, my trusty coffee (latte, actually) is right at my side as I am perusing your blog this AM. Great card!
ReplyDeleteAwesome card, Susan!
ReplyDeleteLove this card! I see "masculine" when I look at the brown and moss green color--plus the "man size cup". Not that it couldn't be for anyone. I'm just looking for more ideas for men.
ReplyDeletei LOVE this card!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I have this stamp on my list to purchase, and now I have an idea for its use. Thanks for another terrific card.
ReplyDeleteI love how you stamped only part of the image on the card! Beautifully balanced with the sentiment! I think I'll refi;; my cup now!
ReplyDeleteStunning, I'm still waiting for a herbal infusion stamp!!!! ;) Jo x
ReplyDeleteReally super (and I don't even like coffee).
ReplyDeleteI hope you can give this card to a good friend!

Love the cup stamped off to thee side like that -- brilliant!
ReplyDeleteAnd your part about the cup "waving it's steam at you" totally cracked me up, hee hee! :)
Awesome card! It looks so good stamped off the edge like that. (For me, I don't see why it couldn't be takeout tea! I'd just need an adapted sentiment...) :P
ReplyDeleteI really like how you stamped the image off the edge. It's a great idea for something so large it would take up all the space on a card front. I should remember that for a few oversized stamps I own. The band is a cool accent.
ReplyDeletePerfect!!!!
ReplyDeleteI saw this set the other day and shrugged. You've made it look so interesting! Great idea to only stamp part off the edge.
ReplyDeleteIt may be simple but it looks great. That cup really is large.
ReplyDeleteMmmmm, coffee (cup) and a cool sentiment. love it!
ReplyDeleteyippe!

ReplyDeletethis is SO COOL!! I've seen all the sample cards made by the HA gals and (no offense to them - they are awesome stampers) but I love this card more than anything else I've seen created with it!! Awesome!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful way to use this large image. Love the paper pieced band!
ReplyDeleteSimply brilliant way to use a large image and your colour choice is spot on. A great idea for a masculine card (well anybody really!)even if they are not a coffee freak.
ReplyDeleteYou really are the business.
TFS
