I'm mellowing in my old age and no longer see red when faced with bad puns. In fact, I'm willing to use them on occasion.
This one is pushing my patience though. At least the whale image is adorable!
It's been a busy weekend, with a visit from my sister-in-law and three church services I have to attend for our new Stephen Minister commissioning and possibly buying a new car. I hope you are having a fun weekend full of good things to do and good people to do them with. Care to share what you're up to?
And yes, two sentences in a row ended with prepositions. To what is the world coming?
supplies

ink: VersaColor black, Hero Arts Pool
paper: Papertrey white

I love this card. Dare to take it a step further with a tiny googley eye?
ReplyDeleteYou have to link this up to CASology (cue card fish!) - perfect CAS design (and we're getting a lot of puns over there this week!)
ReplyDeleteLove the design of this card! I find it hard to use puns on cards, and I'm impressed that you've managed it with such style. ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt seems you are softening towards the puns. I still can't bring myself to accept very many. One which always made me smile was the "complimentary peanuts" stamp from SU with all the peanuts saying nice things!
ReplyDeleteThe whale is very cute and I love the waves.

I occasionally find myself using puns - and I tend to make it worse by noting that my statement was "punny" - just in case you didn't get it!
ReplyDeleteWe've already had a wonderful start to our weekend - all of our "kids" were home - the 2 farthest away came last night and leave again tomorrow morning, the other one and her hubby got here this afternoon, and left a couple of hours ago. They were all able to see their maternal grandfather, and paternal grandmother - but the best part was mom's cooking and THEN, a photo session with a real photographer to take some family pictures. The last time we did that was at DD#2's wedding, almost 7 years ago!
Maybe it's just the way it was photographed, but he looks kind of bored. ;-) Or...maybe that's seasickness from the flurry of waves he's having to navigate. Cute, nonetheless. It would be great to buy a new car, but I'm working on my terrible looking yard and our local Relay for Life, both of which are uplifting (as is the whale) in their own way. Who gets to make the final decision on the car? Play it safe and let your sister-in-law pick so you can blame her if something doesn't work out....
ReplyDeleteHaha fab card Susan! Cute whale :)

I think you are mellowing a bit! I love puns ! Even the ones that make me groan.
ReplyDeleteI sold cars for 6 months, years ago. That was a really grueling job! I decided I hated selling them and buying them as well. I still hate to shop for new ones- the process is brutal. Luckily, I still love my 2001 and it has less than 48K miles on it!
Oh, joy! A new car and the high you get from that new car scent!...and we spent a nice long weekend at Lake Tahoe in CA/NV attending a wonderful wedding. The song the bride walked into was Ho Hey by the Lunineers and I just had to buy it because I can't get that chorus out of my mind!
DeleteJust sent my one and only child off to camp for a week! Hopefully, this week I can get in some card making time without feeling like I should be entertaining the "bored already" child instead!
ReplyDeleteIf I were ever pun-i-shed
ReplyDeletefor every little pun I said,
I'd have to find a puny shed
In which to hide my punnish head.
I heard that on the radio around 1960! We love puns at our house, and we also love grammar rules. Clearly, you are The Woman!
Wonderful whale card! Yes, I had a short intake of breath with the pun but it was with jolly good humour and I'm smiling :D x
ReplyDeleteThat should read and I'm still smiling :D
