Sucker!

Okay, so Valentine's Day isn't my favorite. It feels too artificial and forced, and too many people feel left out or forgotten. There's too much pressure!

But I always make valentines for my husband and my boys, and this year I had an inspirational brainstorm that took me to my favorite valentine I've ever made...because my husband will laugh and laugh and laugh!

Be still, my jovial heart! First, I love the Hero Arts color layering octopus because it's only two stamps and almost always is easy to line up. Second, when I got the idea to use the Hero Arts ombre pink to red inkpad, everything fell into place!

A few heart-shaped rhinestones, and we've got a funny--and dramatic--valentine! I stamped Happy Valentine's Day on the inside, too.

Do you enjoy Valentine's Day? How many valentines do you make?

Mercy, grace, peace, and love,
Susan

Supplies
stamps: Hero Arts Color Layering Octopus

  1. card is so cute and fun. Mixed feelings about Valentine's Day. it can feel cruel to some but can be nice too. Life!!

  2. Don’t like Valentine’s Day either. IF the Toad and I exchange cards— they are usually more on the lines of “roll your eyes” then the comment of “and you’re stuck with me FOREVER 🤪😂”

    1. Sappy romanticism doesn't work for everyone, does it?

  3. Love your card. The ombre inkpads are so versatile. I send out about 20 Valentine's cards to let my friends know I love them and am so grateful to have them in my life.

  4. Your card is so cool! It really made me smile. The ombre ink pad was the perfect choice for this. I like Valentine's and always have from a little kid on because it means mail! And I love mail. Also, I like all things pink and frilly and girly and VD is all about that along with plushies and candy, so you know it's all good. I think VD is about love in general and how it tickles our world, not do you have a special someone. You're allowed to love yourself and really it is better if you do.

    1. Yes, it really is better if we love ourselves. Love others as yourself implies you love yourself.

Happy Valentine's Day a month early!

  5. I enjoy Valentine's Day if only to create a few cards. I only make 6 or 7 cards for immediate family members. Though my cards have not been this funny, I do sometimes create something that might bring a smile to a face.

  6. Your card is funny, Susan. I like the ombré inking. I only make about 4-5 Valentine's Day cards for the family. I also make about 10 for seniors adopted by a ministry at church.
