What can you do with this?
Perhaps something pink like this:
Or bold and bright like this:
Or green:
To make these, I used a 1"-high strip of heavy white cardstock, wide red sticky tape, and 2" strips of ribbon. After laying them out in a pleasing pattern, I wrapped each ribbon around the strip, with the ends stuck to the tape on back. Then, I put another strip of tape on the card base below the sentiment, and stuck the whole ribbon panel right on the card.
It's easy, versatile, and thrifty. What's not to like!?!? Okay, some of my combinations turned out a bit weird or just didn't photograph well, but I made 8 cards in about half an hour and used up more than half my ribbon scraps. I'd say that's a good use of time and supplies!
Supplies
stamps: PTI Simple Little Things, St. Pat's sentiment unknown
ink: Palette noir, Versacolor evergreen
paper: PTI white
accessories: ribbon scraps, red sticky tape
Stunning! Very clever! And don't we all have little pieces of ribbon we can use like that. Thanks for the idea.

ReplyDeleteAwesome, clever, and a WONDERFUL way in which to use those scraps. I save them, too. Most are too small to tie in a bow - this will be perfect. I'm getting right on this. Thank you very much.

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun project! I especially love how colourful - and this from the colour-phobe! - all these strips are together. They make a simple card simply gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWhen my scraps are too small even for me to tie in a bow, I use them tied in a single knot and added over my long strip of ribbon. Sometimes I go wild and use other shades/patterns, too - lol!
I think several crafters will be using up their ribbon scraps today, thanks to you!
OMG! These are amazing - I adore them. Am going to give this a go for sure.

Oh thank God I don't have a single ribbon scrap because if I did, I would have to make a "pleasing" arrangement, as if that's ALL there is to this card. (Going off to the corner to figure out why I don't have ribbon scraps and everyone else does!)
ReplyDeleteGenius indeed, Gold Medalist for sure! Thank you, Susan.
