My friend Sue from South Carolina sent me a couple of small PTI sets to give away. Seems she bought more than she needed. The sets are:
1. Year-Round Puns
2. Pond Life Sentiments
All you have to do to win one of these is to tell me whether you've ever bought something craft-related that you already had (I have, but not recently!) and which of the two sets you would prefer. Two winners will be drawn at random.
Drawings will end Friday, October 23, 2009, at 9:00 pm EDST. Only one entry per person, please.
Absolutely!! I have two kreate-envelopes both the same size. I was pretty sure I had one when I saw it demo'ed but now I realize that I have two!!

I don't think I have duplicates of anything, but I sure have a lot of "pretty much the same as" when it comes to stamps. I really like nature themes, so for a while I was buying a lot of leaf and tree stamps. Recently I was sorting through my loose stamp drawers (sorted by theme) and realized I have a lot of leaf images. In particular, oak leaf images. I don't know why I bought so many. Some of them are so similar they might as well be the same. And the thing is, I rarely use them anymore.
ReplyDeleteIf I won I would be thrilled with either set. How generous of your friend to pass them on to you and how nice of you to offer them to others.
I've kept a running list on my cell phone of stamping supplies so I don't purchase duplicates, but I DID once put a Christmas present for my brother aside "in a safe place" and then couldn't find it UNTIL after I purchased its replacement, LOL!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE PTI and would pick the year-round puns if I were to win. Thanx for the inspiration and blog candy opp!
I have never bought a duplicate of something I already have. I keep pretty good mental inventory. I have, however, ordered the wrong thing. To make matters worse, I did it on two consecutive orders! I would love either set, but I think Pond Life Sentiments would fill a gap...
ReplyDeleteNo, I've never ordered the same thing twice by mistake. I do have Pond Life but not the sentiments so I guess it would be nice to have that.
ReplyDeleteI bought the same cuttlebug embossing folder twice and have bought small things like a marker or ink pad in a colour that I already owned. Now I carry a little notebook with all my craft supplies in it so I don't buy the same thing twice!
ReplyDeleteThanks for a chance to win! I would pick the Year Round Puns if given the choice!
I bought a Fiskars circle punch thinking it was a different size circle from the one I had. When it came I discovered I bought the same size so gave it to my sister and she was happy. My first choice would be the Year-Round Puns but either would be really nice. Thanks to Sue and you, too, for passing it on!
ReplyDeleteI have some duplicate circle punches. It seems I can't remember which size I need when I get to the craft store, and then guess - wrong. lol
ReplyDeleteI would love Pond Life Sentiments (because I already have Year-Round Puns and it would just be another duplicate. lol)
yes yes yes...seems I "won" a couple of items on ebay that I had already and totally forgot...finally had to create an inventory so I don't do it again!!!
ReplyDeleteI am unfamiliar with PTI so Pond Life Sentiments sounds like it would be fun.
Thanks for all the great ideas and funny stories on your site

I bought the same Tim Holtz mask that I already had (purchases were probably within the same month or two even!!) just recently. I bet you will get more yes answers than no ones with this question!!
ReplyDeleteIf I were to win, I'd like pond life sentiments!! THANKS!
I haven't bought duplicates in my very short paper crafting life, but that is because early on I read a tip to keep track of what you own--so I've done that. I have an Excel spreadsheet of everything I own, and then I keep separate lists of what I still want from PTI, SU, and Spellbinders (Nesties). I'm very grateful to whoever first gave me that tip!
ReplyDeleteIf you draw my name, I'd love Year-Round Puns!
Hi, I have bought duplicate stamps on many occasions!!! Just shows I'm true to my likes! If I win, I'll be happy with either set. Thanks for keeping such a lovely blog.
ReplyDeleteI'm the type of person who thinks "if one is good. . . two is better" so I have a lot of duplicates. Most recently bought the same cuttlebug folder - just so I could have it. Again, I absolutely love your blog and cards.
ReplyDeleteI was feeling quite superior ;) about never buying duplicates until I remembered that I bought several of the same paper cutters (that always broke), prior to switching to my new Fiskars. Is reinvesting in something that doesn't work worse than not knowing what you have? :D
ReplyDeleteI like either set!
Oh, yes, guilty here! I recently moved all my papercraft supplies into a different room. I was amazed to find I had bought several duplicate single stamps, mostly sentiments. Luckily, my daughter is a stamper, and was happy for the windfall. Should I be so lucky, I would love to receive the Year-Round Puns set. Thanks for a chance to win.
ReplyDeleteAlways enjoy my visits to your lil' corner of inspiration and calm here in Bloggyland!
ReplyDelete... and here I thought this was a common practice amongst {ALL} stamping enthusiast?! {wink} Delighted to see I'm in great company!
Appreciate the opportunity at a chance for Year-Round Puns!
-A. :)
I have to say that I don't think I have ever done that although I bet it could easily happen if you have a lot in your stash. Thanks for the chance to win...I would like the year round puns if I won.

ReplyDeleteOHHH I definitely have. That is one of the great things about stamping friends, we swap duplicates. When our rooms are messy (go figure) and a friend comes over to help, if they find the duplicates we stand up and shout, and then it comes home with us. HAHAHAH!!!
ReplyDeleteI would love either since this would be the first set from Papertrey for me. And of course I'd have to purchase the sister set! HAHAH...I became a fan of this site because two friends of mine LOVE your stamps. I go to their house to often to use them. It would be great to not have to go there, but have them come here. AND... to finally have something they don't!
Opened my last PTI order and thought, "Oh, that really looks familiar." Yep, had the same one already.
ReplyDeleteI gave it to my best stamping friend, and we've told the story many times in stamping groups.
I would choose Pond Life sentiments, because you can never have enough good sentiments.
Yes- definitely. I bought the MS lace border punch twice- hopefully I used a coupon both times.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win year round puns.
Thanks for the opportunity to win.
I love leaves, but it got to the point that I had too many to remember and I wound up with a few duplicates.....used them for giveaways....Love the Year round pun set. TFS!
ReplyDeleteI have followed your blog for several months now...initially because I love your OCD (it reminds me of my own compulsive habits). However, now I have come to appreciate the "simplicity" your style offers - just LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was normal to purchase duplicates! I don't do it real often but when I do...dang it confirms my husbands rambligs of "having so much, you don't know whats in there!"
I don't have either set and would love either one - if my number were to be chosen..
I have bought duplicate stamps accidentally (usually $1 stamps at Mike's. There's a Mike's near our home and another one 30 miles away where I work. Sometimes one store will get the $1 stamps before the other. If the 1st selection is picked over, I buy what I can. Then when the other store puts out the $1 stamps, I can't remember what I bought the 1st time. Since they are only a buck, I end up with duplicates to give to friends.

PS: I don't have either PTI set so I'd enjoy either set if my entry were selected.
Oh my...have I ever!! Sometimes I buy something to replace something lost amid the mountains of supplies, only to find what was lost...but I have purchased duplicate stamps too. Just need to use them more often so I know what I have.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of this the other day when I found the 'evidence'. Twice I've bought the same issue of a pricey mag. Twice! That's what I get for not reading it right away. Well, a friend was sure happy with my blunder :)
ReplyDeleteMy choice would be Pond Life. It has been on my teeny wish list, in fact.
oops...I forgot to say that I love the Year Round Puns set. I do not have that one! :-)
ReplyDeleteI hate to admit that I have bought duplicates of stamps, inkpads and paper more than once. I have been stamping for 17 years so I am entitled to be a little forgetful once in awhile, right? I would love to have the Pond Life set. It is one that I know for sure I don't have.
ReplyDeleteYes. I have purchased 2 different stampin up sets -- twice. Luckily I could share with my mom. I would be happy with either set if my name was chosen. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI think this is the only area in my life where I'm organized, AND I have so few supplies it's easy to know what I have. I did purchase the same Prismacolor pencil once - does that count? I LOVE PTI, but only have two sets, so either one would be wonderful to receive. Thanks!
ReplyDeletei've been given and even won things i already own. i've re-purchased because of misplacing something, too...only to find it later. (of course!) in fact, if i were to be the lucky one to win here...i already have these two sets! :) but i can always share with my friend, Anne...she's responsible for my stamping habit anyway!! :) have a great day.
ReplyDeleteI have been lucky. I have never bought anything twice. I have certainly lost things within my stamproom and have had to re-purchase...to eventually find it. But luckily never stamps, always just embellishments or paper.
ReplyDeleteAnd I would love either of the sets if I was lucky enough to win. :0)
I have purchased duplicate stamps and a punch. I have a great list that I carry with me when I go shopping but sometimes I just don't look at it or if I do, I guess I've forgotted to log a past purchase.:(
ReplyDeleteI'd be thankful for either of your wonderful stamp sets.
The only thing I can remember buying duplicates of are a couple dollar clear stamp sets from Michael's. It kind of surprises me that I haven't done it with more things, but I do try to be careful what I purchase:) If I am the lucky winner, I would prefer the Pond Life sentiments, as I already have the Year Round Puns, and don't need a duplicate! LOL!
ReplyDeleteOh how appropriate! My verification word is "pother", and I have two almost-the-same Winnie the Pooh sets! teeheeI also have the same cat stamp in two different sizes, but I think my brother may have given me one of them, so that can't be my fault! ;) Should it happen, the pun set would be well-used... :)
ReplyDeleteYes; I bought a SU snowflake wheel twice for some reason... and I don't even use wheels. Thanks for the great blogs, I can't tell you how inspiring your cards are! I would prefer Pond Life, but would be happy with either set. Thank you!

I do have a weird impulse to buy doublesided tape evertime I pass the stationary isle. I just need it, I already have some, it does go fast, but I need a new one, just in case, you never EVER want to be without!!
ReplyDeleteI bought duplicates of a VersaMarker watermark pen. I came home from crafting with a friend, and saw that I had two of these and thought I took hers by mistake. Nope, she still had hers and when I put them back in my drawer...I saw that I actually had three!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a trouble with papers I see something thats pretty and buy, then find out when I get home find I already have it. But mum it dosnt go to waste a few times a years I send a big package to mum of all the stuff I havent used so she gets most of it. I love the pond life. thank you
ReplyDeleteyes indeed, i have bought the same crafting supply more than once. always feel a bit foolish when i discover it, but then i give it away, so that makes me feel better. thanks for your generosity with this giveaway. i don't have either set, so i am easy there!!
ReplyDeletemarty ferraro
I don't recall buying the same thing twice. I did get a duplicate SU ink pad from an ebay buy that I didn't need (I have so few of these but, that was one that I had...go figure....). Would love to have Year 'Round Puns. Thanks for the chance to win something...love your cards!
ReplyDeleteHi Love your style. I had bought lots of the color cardstock, it seems like I am always low in Chocolote color and really not because I have not 2 but 4 packs.
ReplyDeleteI like "Year round puns" Thanks for sharing......Gina F
I seem to always buy the same craft magazine! I bought a really nice one about 3 months ago to realize later that my mom had given me the same one only 3 days before.
ReplyDeleteI'd love the Year Round Puns set!!

Hmmm....that is a hard one for me. I try very hard to use all of the things I have and have extreme guilt when a stamp set I have purchased goes unused. However, one day. I found myself at Michaels with my 40% off coupon that I just HAD to use. Yay, you guessed it, I purchased a Christmas stamp set I already had. When I discovered it, I made sure I put my shopping on hold for awhile and I have been trying to focus on using what I have!!!
ReplyDeleteWoops, I forgot to post which stamp set I prefer.(though I really love ALL stamps). Year-round puns would go great on my cards. Thank you! I am inspired by your simplicity!!
ReplyDeleteA whole xyron machine! How do you duplicate that? It works out since they are great for kids school projects :) but it was embarassing! I just recently found your blog and I am hooked! Thanks for sharing all your CAS desings...makes me feel relaxed and happy. Like stamping can be fun and enjoyable...not dragging out a million things to make a great card. I've started stamping again because I know that CAS is doable. I would love the pun set if I'm lucky enough to win. But I love all PTI stamp sets.
ReplyDeleteYes, guilty. I would say it's mostly the basics, but I probably have more than I really need--like white cardstock. After reading your blog, it seems those are the only cards I want to make. And year-round puns would help me use up some of my white cardstock.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Your blog is always a joy to read.
Guilty as charged! My most common "duplicate buy" has been Prismacolor pencils. Fortunately, my mother doesn't have as much stampin' stuff as I do and has been the recipient of my oops purchases.
ReplyDeleteI think I'd get more use out of the puns, but I sure wouldn't be opposed to the pond sentiments! :)
Right now I think I might have ordered a certain stamp for the second time. I'm refusing to even go look closely to find out. You should add organizing tips to your site.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win.
Oops...I like the pond life sentiments the best but both are great.
ReplyDeleteDon't know if you have closed this off yet...I would choose Year-round Puns.
ReplyDeleteDuplicates? Of course! The most recent was when I bought Ultramarine Blue online just 2 days after buying a tube at Hobby Lobby. And it was the same brand, too!
(At least I can exchange one!)
Yes, I have bought duplicate Stampin Up wheels twice, likely because I hadn't used them yet, and didn't remember I had them! I also have a duplicate Coluzzle envelope cutting guide. I would enjoy Pond Life with my outdoorsy family, but either stamp set would be awesome, don't have a Papertrey set yet!
ReplyDeleteWell, glad to discover it's not just me that does this kinda thing! I have two little Hero Arts duck stamps...
ReplyDeleteJust in case I get lucky I'll just add that the Puns stamp set looks lovely, Jo x
