A Few Autumn Cards

Must. Take. Break. From. Christmas.

Ahhhh. Pumpkin. Rust. Chocolate. Mustard. I'd forgotten what you looked like.

Simplicity Tip: When you are overlapping a cardstock border with ribbon as I did above, DO NOT put tape on the back of the ribbon on the front of the card. Unsightly bulges result. Tape it firmly inside the card. No one cares if ribbon wraps to the inside. NO ONE!

If I tell myself that often enough, maybe I will start to believe it.

All I have to say about the second card is this: sometimes, you gotta pop a card for all it's worth and just add extra postage. I popped this one and have no regrets.

Supplies
stamps: Fall Elegance, First Fruits
ink: PTI vintage white, SU pumpkin pie, VersaMagic brown, pumpkin
paper: SU pumpkin pie, more mustard, really rust, PTI vintage cream
accessories: rhinestones, ribbon, dimensionals, Fiskars threaded water punch, corner rounder

  1. Oh, I care! About the ribbon on the inside of the card, that is... if there must be ribbon showing on the inside of the card, it MUST be a complete piece, going the whole length of the card. It can NEVER be just the ends taped/glued or otherwise attached. But on reflection that could just be some personal issues creeping to the surface......

  2. Kay, OF COURSE I run the ribbon all the way across the inside, and make sure the end that shows is cut cleanly and neatly! I'm way too AR/OCD to do it any other way, and even then, only when I must.

But honestly, most people who receive my cards couldn't care less how the ribbon is attached. *wink*

  3. making fall cards are my favs!! I love your colors, of course. My favorite part of either of these 2 cards is how you put the pumpkin in between the sentiment. I'm not sure why but I love it!!!! I think maybe it is because the Happy is shorter than the thanksgiving and that makes the pumpkin off to the left a bit. Anyway, did I say I loved it yet??? :-)

  6. Love the fall colors. I think they are my fav colors and it is, for sure, my fav season.
I like the cards you have here. They are fresh and clean (as usual)
You are right that card recipients do not care how ribbon is attached. Most people I give my cards to are more amazed that there is another option for cards, besides the local drugstore.

  8. Just adore today's cards! I made a card like this http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_LcTIJHCkY2I/Ss0hKIdQrFI/AAAAAAAAAx8/NZybFxwwFiU/s1600-h/DSCN1503.JPG using paint chips I got from Lowe's. They make great petals! Easy to punch and the thickness is just right. Thanks for your inspiration.

  11. I like the rhinestones centered on that neat image on the first card. And I agree, sometimes you gotta pop.

I can't help myself from adhering my ribbon down all along it. I'm so afraid it will come off otherwise. I too have gotten "visible panel lines" when I do this but I can't help myself.
