Simple Set with Amber Bling

In my effort to use every image stamp in my collection, I've had to stretch myself to use the odd little pieces in the Papertrey sets which I had hitherto avoided. This set of cards uses the little stamps from Everyday Blessings to make borders for the various sentiments in that set. The gemstones are amber colored and look so nice with the Hint of Pesto ink. I used the grid acrylic block from PTI to line everything up for the repeat stamping.

Simplicity Tip: When repeat stamping like this, it's hard to line stuff up so the repeats look even at both ends. Look at the borders of the first two cards to see what I mean: the first is uneven, the second is even on the card and looks better. To do this easily, just cut the card down to fit the stamping AFTER you stamp the border. Don't stamp the sentiment before cutting, as this will throw off the balance of the card. (Ask how I know this....) These cards are various sizes to accommodate the repeats evenly. Of course, you only need this tip if you are AR/OC like me. Otherwise, don't worry about repeat stamping being even. Really, it doesn't matter to normal people.

  4. Those gems look fantastic with that ink. What elegant cards. So clean and simple and sparkly, I guess that meets this weeks CAS challenge....

  5. So lovely! Glad to have you back. ;)

  6. I'm impressed. I don't even know what stamps I have, much less can I say I've used them all.
I also get completely the part about trimming the card to make the designs even. I guess that makes me AR/OC also.
Maybe that's why we like CAS.
    Thanks for your posts.

  7. So awesome! :)

  8. Super cards, Susan! And that's a good tip. I think most stampers are a little OC, even if they don't admit it.

  9. I love these, Susan. The repeating patterns look like jewellery, beautiful.

  10. These are beautiful! Great tip about lining stuff up.

  11. These are beautiful, so elegant and the colours are so good together. I agree with Heather they really do look like jewellery.
I've never thought of myself as AR/OC but as I agree with you about the design being even across the card I guess I must be!!!! Is that why alot of my stuff ends up in the trash .... nah I'm just not that good!!!
Nice to see you back..... TFS

  12. Susan, I am so glad that you have taken on this challenge because I LOVE these cards and you would have probably not made them if not for the challenge!! Yeah!!
