Nailed It!

Nailheads are a fabulous embellishment...when I can find them. They don't seem to be quite as available as bling, but they do add a little shiny something without adding as much thickness as a rhinestone.




These metallic red nailheads are perfect little ornaments for a Christmas tree, and as as you can see in the close-up, they aren't thick enough to interfere with postal equipment.

Pretty and practical!

    Great card, great idea!
    Just to share: the USPS will send you their plastic template that measures the size and depth of mail, i.e. determining if the piece can be sent at letter rates. It is called LETTER-SIZE MAIL DIMENSIONAL STANDARDS TEMPLATE, 1050251 REV J.
    Between that and a postage/diet scale, you can breathe easy when mailing.

      Thanks for the information...I didn't know you could get the template, although I've seen the post office personnel use it on my cards before. That would be very handy to have on hand!

      Actually, my concern in this post is more the damage that the equipment inflicts on cards sent through it. I'm sending several birthday cards this month in bubble envelopes because I don't want them damaged...they are unusually bulky for me! I don't mind the extra postage/expense when the cards are going to essentially be the person's gift.

    I just got some red nailheads, although I'm not sure that's what they were called, by Hero Arts. I'm going to use them for reindeer noses for cards with Rudolph. Also, I've never posted before but I love your blog. It's fabulous and I look forward to reading it everyday. I hope I didn't make any grammatical errors!
