The brown Stickles in the centers of the flowers doesn't show up in the photo, but they add a nice bit of sparkle to the card. The coloring was done with Bic Mark-Its. And doesn't the font on the PTI sentiment go PERFECTLY with this fabulous branch from Hero Arts? I just adore it when products from different manufacturers match so well.
I'm just not sure about the tile effect and would love to hear your opinion not only on this particular card but on the idea of cutting up images like this in general.

I really like this, Susan. Now I don't know, I might like it just as well NOT cut into 3 tiles. But this just has an interesting, different look to it that just shows a little flair the whole image doesn't. I do think it's more effective in some images than others, and I do like it when I see it. I love this lovely branch, and the beautiful coloring in it. Very pretty card! I like cut up images as well. When I've done in the past is putting the cut pieces on top of different colored paper. That wouldn't be so CAS anymore I guess. Anyway, you're card is lovely!

I think that any way you would go with a card it would turn out just right, but it is nice to see different techniques every once in a while. I think that as long as the images of a non-abstract form are placed close enough together, the tiling can add a bit of interest and won't distract from the overall design.
I think your card is perfectly fabulous! I've always been a little reluctant to try cutting up images myself, but seeing how lovely yours turned out has possibly inspired me to give it a try! LOL
Cutting up images is a favourite technique of mine which I haven't pulled out in a while. It works perfectly on your card keeping the eye on the image for that little bit longer.
Just last weekend I tiled an image for the first time, only because I thought the card otherwise kind of boring. The 3 tiles were slightly separated by polka-dotted grosgrain I ran behind the tiles.
When it was done, I asked myself what I always ask myself while viewing the tiled cards of others.....what's the point in tiling? Boring is STILL boring. Or in some cases, not boring is still not boring, which is the case with your cards, no matter what you do.

I like the tile effect. If you wanted something a bit different, I wonder how it would look with a single mat with the 3 tiles on top (kinda like "grout.")?

I like the cut up image, it adds depth and dimension. And, the Stickles provides just a little bit of extra interest. Very pretty.
I think this is a great card. It is still CAS but the tiles add just that little bit more interest. Wonderful!

I like cutting up...or should I say the tile look. It looks different when the background is a different color, but I love the white on white.

Susan I love this tile effect. I do it with larger images - especially if it is a sketch that calls for multiple panels. One image across three or more panels makes it look more CAS in my opinion.

I really like the tile effect! It adds some extra interest to the card. It would also look really cool if the card were rotated so that the vine was growing upward. Just another way of looking at it. Very pretty card! :)

I love the idea especially with inchies. I did a Christmas card with a string of lights where I actually staggered the tiles but not the image. I think tiled images usually works for me and yours is BEAUTIFUL! Thanks for all that you do.

while this card used the technique well, i think i agree with cheryl and joan...it depends on the image. generally, i don't like this technique...(i can hear the boos from the commenters!!) and it really hit home this weekend when there was a mosaic class offered at a scrap event i attended. WHY would you cut up your photographs?? :) I LOVE the brown stickles...even though you can't see it well...it's one of my faves!
I am with those that generally don't like mosaics... BUT I love simple mosaics like the card you made. It's not overdone and perfect. LOVE IT!

I love it - but then I love 99% of your cards. They always look so CAS but when I try them myself they are actually more difficult than I think!!
I think this vine image is very interesting tiled and popped up like you did. I have done this techniqe before. Primarily with creating an all over pattern of stamping then cutting into panels.
