Another Thank You Note

Yesterday, I started re-arranging my craft room. Sometimes my OCD is really annoying.

Anyway, today's card makes me happy. That shadow stamp (part of a discontinued set from Hero Arts) is PERFECT for grounding images like trees. I particularly like how the "grass" establishes an imaginary margin of white on the card but the big tree spills over that line and off the card.

Thank you for visiting my blog, and special thanks to those who take time to leave a comment. Your kindness really motivates me!

Have a great Tuesday!

Supplies
stamps: PTI (Through the Trees, A Day at the Beach), Hero Arts (shadow), Clear and Simple Stamps (sentiment)
ink: river rock, old olive, chocolate chip, summer sun
paper: PTI white, summer sun
accessories: circle punch

  1. Love this Susan, and on the contrary, thank *you* for giving such lovely creations to gaze at every day!

I have Through The Trees and still need to ink it up! Oh, the shame!

Thank you so much for the lovely comment you left on my blog, I was so thrilled!

  3. cute 'scene' you've created. gotta love those particular stamps that get used over and over (like your 'grass').

  4. Like Rose Ann, I like how the tree spills off the edge. I also like how you popped the center of the sun. Thank you for sharing your cards with us!

  7. You're right about that shadow stamp - it makes all the difference. That sun is the perfect thing to really pop this card. It just makes you happy! The placement of the tree is perfect! Lovely card, Susan.

  8. Thank YOU for posting every day! It's a treat to come see what amazing creation you're sharing every day. You bring a spot of joy and beauty to my life every day! Love the extra circle on the sun! (Despite the fact that I ended three sentences in a row with "every day," I would understand if you wanted to take a day off every now and then, as long as it's only once a year, LOL.)

  9. Another card to love. And I'm a little jealous, too, because I haven't even cracked open that PTI set yet...sigh. But now I have additional inspiration for making time to stamp! Thanks!

  11. I think this is fantastic! I also love the white 'margin' that your eye thinks is there because of the grass. LOVE the added detail of popping up the sun. I wouldn't have been able to leave the stickles off, though!

  17. I love your "ground". It really does make this more of a scene than just a tree image. And there you go again putting your images part way off your card to make them more interesting. What a fun little sun.

  18. Sorry, I forgot what OCD is. But I think my sister and I might both be sufferers; we're always talking about our next "re-org".

Thanks for your great postings and art, here and on QMI.

  19. Thanks for the shout-out in the comments the other day! :) I'd be like you if I had a die-cut machine, I'd always NEED another embossing folder. (It's bad enough when I buy something at Michael's because I have a coupon, and what do they do? They give me ANOTHER coupon!!!)
Today's card is, as always, beautiful. I'd never thought of needing shadow stamps. Oh wait, I have a Mike's coupon! :P

  21. Hi Susan! I absolutely love your blog and check every day to see what you have created. I don't leave a comment usually, but rest assured, I love your work and appreciate so much you sharing it with us all!!

  22. Me too! I rarely leave comments, I'm so sorry to admit it. But you are one of the first blogs I check every day, and I can't wait to see what you've created. I have had so little time to craft in recent months, but I love to admire all that you do, in anticipation of the time when I can put all this inspiration to good use. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for sharing!

  23. Lisa and Nanette, leave a comment! This is such a fun community here....join in the fun....time well-spent for sure.

I was surprised you did a "scene", Susan, but I would have wrecked it by not leaving the grass margin. I confess, I copy every one of your cards at least once, hopefully to see if there's a possibility to make it look as good, and I'm always shocked at how many times I must consult such a "simple" card to get everything exactly where and how you put it. Because it's always something subtle that absolutely MAKES the card.

That's the neatest sun ever. Is it a stamp?

  24. As always a real treat for the eye ....
Every day you lift our spirits with your lovely cards especially when it is such a sunshiny one.
Love the cute popped up sun!
Thank you so much for sharing your creativity.

  25. Can't have too many thank you cards (or tree stamps). Beautiful as always

  26. Bahb, the sun is from PTI's Day at the Beach set. It is a strange stamp because it leaves a hole in the middle, which I covered with the punched circle of summer sun cardstock.

Don't feel bad that you have to keep looking back on simple cards you're CASE-ing. I did the EXACT SAME THING the other day while trying to CASE a very simple card from the Paperlicious blog. Clean and simple ISN'T easy, even if it does LOOK easy. I always say, there is no place to hide with CAS... with so few elements, everything has to be perfectly balanced and harmonious, or it just doesn't work.

I generally only post my successes here, but there are lots of failures for every one that gets posted. When JulieHRR told me it's the same with her, I felt so much better. Learning is fun, and I now view the "failed" cards as happily as the successes. It's all part of the process.

    Have a great day!

  28. The first thing I look for every morning is your blog! I am a PURE AND SIMPLE kind of crafter. Too many layers or too much Stuff drives me nuts. Your cards are exactly what I love and thanks so much for sharing!
