Papertrey Gracious Vases...Part 1

Oh. My. Goodness. This set.... This set....

Did Maile Belles design it for lil ol' me?

Because it fits me like a glove. Or my skinny capri jeans.

I love those skinny capri jeans, people.

And this stamp set. See.

I can make girly, gingham, sweet cards like the one above. Or simple dude cards like the one below.

I turned that solid vase sideways and made a border of it. And used browns. Dude. DUDE!!!!

I've got more. Lots more. I even colored.

And had so much fun I went out and added a few more Copics to my marker collection. I'll tell you all about it tomorrow.

Happy Sunday!

PS If you enjoy reading fiction and haven't read The Help yet, please consider picking it up. I don't think I've had a novel touch me this deeply in a long time and sure hope they don't botch it with the movie.

  10. I am GREEN WITH ENVY!!!! I have this on my "must have" list as soon as the buying freeze is off. Wonderful card samples. Read The Help last year - could not put it down until I finished it. Love how each character is created. Have I mentioned that next Sunday I get to learn from the Coloring Queen - Debbie Olson - at a Copics class?

  11. Great way to thik out of the box. And, yes, The Help is amazing. I haven't read such an enjoyable book in a long time. And to think that wasn't all that long ago.

  12. Love your cards, especially your Dude card! I read that book last summer and really emjoyed it. I had no idea they were making a movie from the same story. In my opinion, the book is almost always better.

  16. You are just amazing. Who else would think of turning a vase sideways for a guy card? I love the blue card, and I totally agree that that vase set is a must-have. It's on my list, and until I get it I'm stock-piling your examples with it. Loved both your cards! Same thing with The Help. Wonderful book! Movie just can't do it justice.

  18. Great cards as always! I love how you turned the vase sideways - very creative and shows just what can happen when you think outside the box! Bravo!

Now, on to the book! I read it last year and let me tell you, I couldn't put it down!!! The book was awesome and like you, it touched me deeply as well. The book of Negro's is soooooo good too if you haven't read it yet! Definitely worth the read.

  19. _The Help_ is a wonderful read, I totally agree. I'm looking forward to the movie, too, although I have a feeling that it's been a bit Hollywoodized. (Huh. I was sure that's a word.) :P
Meanwhile, these two cards are fabulous! I especially like the lovely colours of the first one, but yes, the second one is such a dude card. :P

  20. I read "The Help" last year and finished it being a bit frustrated. It almost said to me "there's a sequal coming". I've forgotten character names but for the leading character to just go off and leave her long-loved helper standing on the sidewalk while the main character waltzed off to the big city, left me a bit sad. Anyone else have a problem with the ending?

  21. I come regularly and you must surely get sick of me saying how awesome you are as a blogger and crafter...then again, maybe not (get sick of me, that is).

I've order this PTI set and thank you immensely for the extra inspiration you're giving here.

As for The Help - this was a book club find. It was a fabby book and one we all enjoyed. We had fantastic discussions and planning to go see the movie. Chocolate pie, anyone? ;)
