My Aunt's Birthday Card

Edited to correct stamp set name.

Yes! It's got a colored base!

This card was sort of an accident. I had pulled out the SU set Echoes of Kindness to play with the In Color markers. You'll notice the amazing lack of In Colors on this card, I'm sure. Somehow, I ended up with bashful blue and olive and lots of glorious white.

Sometimes it pays to go with the flow.

As soon as I finished, I knew this would be my aunt's birthday card. She's another of the many November birthdays in my family, and this suits her elegant style.

I hope you like it!

Supplies
stamps: SU Echoes of Kindness, PTI Text Style, Faux Ribbon
ink: SU bashful blue, old olive; Palette Noir
paper: PTI white, SU bashful blue, old olive
accessories: dimensionals, ribbon

  2. Very pretty! I like that strip of text at the bottom, too. My PTI text stamp has been neglected, so perhaps I will play with it today!

  5. Simple and lovely. The colors are great together, and the sea of white really emphasizes that. The flower stamp is perfect with this layout. The whole thing is just lovely.

  9. Lovely, lovely! I would never have thought to put the text at the bottom!

Is the image freehand? I love how it suggests a botanical without being one that dictates a color in order to be authentic. It's a must-have but I can't find it. :-(

  16. Lindsay, The white panel is popped off the olive matte so the ribbon doesn't bulge.

Bahb, It's SU's Echoes of Kindness. I got it wrong and will edit the post to correct that.

  18. Ah, found it on Ebay now. Thanks, Susan. Something about that image calls my name, though I might find what's REALLY calling my name is your talent, which can't be duplicated by me buying a certain stamp, or so I've found so far. :-)
