Another Classic CAS Layout...Great for Larger Stamps

Last week, I shared my most favoritest layout with you, and this week, I'm sharing another awesome--and classic--layout...but this one works great with larger stamps.

The raised panel gives a nice, big canvas for those large stamps (think Papertrey's Mistletoe and Holly stamps...can't believe I didn't think to use it this past Christmas!).

I used an older Hero Arts stamp called Three Ferns, discontinued last year. After inking it with bamboo and olive Memento inks (rocked and rolled the olive on the edges), I sprayed the stamp with Glimmer Mist and stamped it on a half-card I'd cut from a failed card. The Glimmer Mist gives it such an awesomely subtle shimmer! Then, after trimming it to a 3.5" square, I mounted it using dimensionals. The sentiment is from Papertrey's Birthday Basics.

Why not search through your stamp stash for some larger, neglected stamps and give this layout a try?

Supplies
stamps: Hero Arts Three Ferns, Papertrey Birthday Basics
ink: Memento
paper: PTI white
accessories: Hero Arts olive rhinestones, SU dimensionals, Glimmer Mist

  1. Thanks for taking the time to use some older, possibly even discontinued, stamps. Those among us who are non-artists appreciate your suggestions for the kind of stamp to use in place of one that might be featured on a card on a blog. The constant pressure to buy, buy, buy new stamps is off-putting. I've dropped more than one blog because I felt like the blogger's life depended on my buying a product from them. I don't mind so much that some bloggers are faithful to a particular brand and may be on their DT or sell papercrafting supplies as a business, but I do not like it when I get e-mails or posts that constantly hawk their wares or provide "incentives" to buy. I guess this should have all gone on the post a couple of days ago, but I did just want to thank you for listening to us and actually using old images (that are still classics and have stood the test of time--just like a good book).

PS: I take it you got your needed rest since you're back at it.

  3. Three Ferns? Discontinued? Oh, I waited too long! If you ever decide to sell it, I know someone who would give it a loving home. And I enjoy seeing you rescue something from a failed card.
