A Little Sunshine and Some New Stuff

First of all, my heart goes out to Texas. The past few months have been brutal for flooding. I have friends and family in New Braunfels and Houston. They've not flooded, but it's been a close thing in Houston.

So here's a little sunshine card. We all need some sunshine, right?

I adore that tiny little sun!

And now for some new stuff. First, the inks.

I've been desperate lately for some lighter gray inks and sort of hit the jackpot with this order. In the next day or two, I'll talk more about the inks. Thoughts percolating in my noggin....

Now, the stamps.

Y'all have already seen two of these sets at work. I can't wait to play with the rest.

What have you bought lately that you're excited about?

Supplies
stamps: Simon Says Stamp My Sunshine
ink: Hero Arts
paper: Papertrey white
accessories: not a one

  1. Wonderful card, Susan. You're really my hero of CAS :-)

About your question: I got the Cinch as a birthday gift (by myself) last month - and I LOVE it!!!

I already had the smaller Bind-it-all for years, which is perfect for binding small items. But I always had issues if I want to bind bigger items (that need to be shift while binding).

It was a lot of money but right now I really can't understand why I wait so long and haven't bought it before - the Cinch made my scrapbooking life so much easier ;-)

I am just not sure to keep the BIA or to get rid of it....

    1. Hmm, you could sell the BIA. Or hoard it. Either way, it's all good, LOL!

  2. Susan, wonderful card. Love how you have half the sun then that perfect sentiment.
I just took delivery of more flower and background stamps and my mind is in overdrive. Why do I need more flowers, I really dont know but its like a craving, there is so much beauty out there.

  3. What came through my door lately? Too much actually. I fell in love with Altenew....I ordered Vintage Roses....lovely but a bit fiddly.....I wanted something to colour so ordered Magnolias for Her.....still practicing but not getting too far....then ordered Beautiful Day...this is my absolute favourite of the three....but I still need to practice colouring....then always loved SU Hopeful Thoughts so got it through e-bay almost untouched...I just love the little 'tree'. Then Spellbinders Divine Eloquence because of a card by Becca Feekan.....a marketing genius for Spellbinders in that one needs four sets of dies to complete the look! Have a couple of things from Papertrey still to arrive and I think I should stop.
Love your card...always get real CAS here.

    1. That die marketing technique keeps me from buying a die cut machine. I shudder to think how much money I would spend. Kid's got to go to college first!

  4. Coincidentally I too recently embarked on a search for a decent light gray ink. Too many of the inks I have that purport to be a light gray have a definite tannish tinge. I can't tell if you have Mama Elephant Moonlight but that was one of the best I found. Versacolor Cement is pretty good too as is Fresh Ink Provincial Gray (just slightly darker). The Amuse inks are definitely brownish. SSS Fog is one of the truer grays in dye ink.

    1. I like the ME Moonlight a lot. It's exactly what I was looking for...a cool, light gray.

  5. The card and sentiment go great together. That CAS design is fab. Your new goodies look like a lot of good times will be had with them 😍 My last purchase was some Waffle Flower stamps & dies that I got from Create and Craft.

  7. I love how this card emphasizes YOU! Very bright and happy. I recently purchased a Copic "wallet that holds thirty six markers. (Half off at a brick and mortar scrapbook store that was going our of business. So sad) I LOVE this case. It keeps all the colors in order and is perfect to tuck beside me on a deck chair on the boat. I have access to all of the colors and don't have to fumble. (I can't buy anymore markers though; it's full)

I stamp six or seven sheets of cardstock with images at a time and take them with me for the weekend. It's just heaven for me to sit and color. Come fall I will use all of those beautiful images to make cards!

    1. Thanks, Marie!

I wish I loved to color as much as you do. I'm enjoying doing Zentangles more, though. ;-)
