Vintage Hero Arts Birthday

My instinct was to title this post "Old Hero Arts Birthday," but vintage sounds so much better. This wood-mounted stamp is pretty old (2000), but with the happy colors and white layers, I think it looks fresh and fun!

Colored with Copics in complementary orange and blue...happy, fun, energetic!

I noticed that yesterday's post didn't include links to the inspiration piece or the church Facebook page. So let me correct that now.

Do you ever pull out vintage stamps from your hoard collection? How do they work for you if you do? I've mostly had fun with this, but several older stamps that I love haven't yielded fresh results...in fact, they've been rather frustrating. I'm wondering if I should get rid of them.

But they're so pretty, and I'm torn!

Mercy, grace, peace, and love,
Susan

  1. Lovely CAS card.
I have several vintage stamps that I like.
What are the dimensions of your card? Many show a lovely card but giving no information about their card; size, stamp used, etc.
Thanks 4 sharing your lovely cards along with you inspiration.

  3. Yes, I too have stamps that have never seen ink but that I like nonetheless. I have many that were actually used, but have since become outdated, yet I am not ready to discard them. Sometimes I find that I can use a portion of the stamp or place the image (or partial image) on a small piece of DP mounted on a solid (usually white) background.

  4. love that stamp and the card you made with it. i have a box with older stamps -- just 5 or 6 years old and I sometimes am delighted to rediscover but mostly they sit there until it's time to send them on!!

  5. Love this card! I went through a major stamp purge - but I'm lucky because my daughter-in-law who lives close by gets first dibs so it's possible many of my discards will find a new home with her. As I learn more about the type of images I like and/or whether I possess the skills for the technique that will show them off best I find it a little easier to discern what I should pass along. If it still brings me joy when I look at I keep it. You have such a talent for clean and simple images, you have given new life to some of my older Papertrey sets. - Thank you for that!

  6. I have many vintage stamps. Some I keep just because I like to look at them and some I keep because I do like to pull them out from time to time. I do feel it is time for a purge, but don't know what to do with them. My stamp club seems to have no interest in wood mount and we're not meeting these days anyway. I thought maybe a thrift store but I don't think they are open yet either. Once I decie to get rid of something I want it gone before I change my mind!
