Tag Variation

Using Peaceful Poinsettia from Papertrey and a Hero Arts sentiment, I created two Christmas tags. Which do you like best?

5 1/2" x 2 1/8

5 1/2" x 2 1/8"

I can't honestly pick a favorite, but perhaps you feel strongly one way or the other.

Do you make tags? If so, do you buy plain wrapping paper and make the tags however you want, or do you make the tags to match a particular wrapping paper? Inquiring minds, and all that....

A Reminder!
For everyone who's sending cards to can check to see if your card has arrived by clicking HERE.

stamps: Papertrey Ink, Hero Arts
ink: VersaColor
paper: Papertrey
accessories: rhinestones, corner rounder, 1/8" satin ribbon

  1. Okay, I'll vote...the first one! :-)

  2. I vote for the first because it's more colorful - love the bright red. My tags are made from either plain white cardstock or Kraft cardstock. I don't match the wrapping paper. Right now I have leftover wrapping paper of various patterns. When that's all gone, I will buy plain wrapping paper and make fancier tags :)

  3. My favorite is the first one -- eye-catching color!

  4. I love the first one--love that bright pop of color! I make about 175 tags each year, but they are for packages of cookies (in clear cello bags) for a charity cookie sale, so they don't have to coordinate with any wrapping paper. If I were making them for my own packages, I would have solid wrapping paper (red or white) and then a tag as the star.

  5. Love the first one. So much cheerful color! I don't make tags. I would love to; just not a priority. I am adamant about Christmas paper though. Red, green, gold. No matter what they coordinate under the tree. I started buying after Christmas one year; and now I specifically look for those colors. You'd be surprised how many different patterns there are in three predominant colors.

  6. I like the first one too :) I buy my paper (similar to Marie) to all coordinate. Then I try to make my tags to match them. This year I went with solid red, gold, silver, and green embossed shiny paper for almost all gifts. I did get patterned shiny paper with similar colors for kids' gifts. All of my tags are pretty easy to use because they are "traditional" colors on the wrapping paper. Love yours!!

  7. Susan, I vote for the top (solid red) tag. This year I will wrap with kraft paper and use leftovers of Neenah paper, which I use for copics, to make tags. I purchased a tag die.

  8. I like the simplicity (teehee) of the 2nd one! I don't make special tags, but use an old stamp that says "to" and "from". I do use different colors of ink. Wrapping paper and bows are my things - love simple papers using not more than 2 colors.

  9. I love the 1st one and love that pop of colour. The 2nd one seems too 'see-through' for me, maybe if it was mounted on some red cardstock i'd like it better :)
I love these comparison posts and have learned heaps, so thanks Susan.
