Amazing Grace

This card was inspired by this page at the website Dribbble, which is the Inspiration Challenge site for this week's IC586 at Splitcoast.

The words to the hymn Amazing Grace were written by John Newton, a slave trader who repented and became an Anglican minister and wrote a number of hymns. I felt the stylized ocean waves from the inspiration page made a perfect border for these two powerful words. The ocean is inconceivably huge, and so is God's grace. It floats us through life's rough patches and is unspeakably...amazing!

Even if you've heard the song a hundred times or more, I encourage you to listen to THIS VERSION of it. It's wonderful.

Mercy, GRACE, peace, and love,

  1. Amazing Grace is a favorite of mine. Your card has an amazing design - the waves are soothing and comforting as is the sentiment. Thank you for sharing the song.

  2. I had no idea THIS VERSION would take me to my all-time favorite vocalists: I love Home Free and have followed them since they won season 3 of the Sing-Off.

Your card perfectly exemplifies God's amazing grace.

  3. Great card! Would love to see it on one of your 'business' envelope-sized cards....that much more beautiful blue waves to send peaceful vibes.... Enjoyed the soundtrack as well.

  4. Beautifully peaceful ... gives one the feeling of grace & space!

  5. Thank you for the link to the Home Free version of Amazing Grace tho most times when I hear the song I cry.

  6. Beautiful card & beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace. Thank you, Susan, for sharing both.

  7. My dad loved the bagpipe version of Amazing Grace, and I listen to it when I want to remember and feel close to him (he died 15 years ago). I'm not religious myself, but it is a beautiful, moving song, especially knowing it's history.

  8. You were right, that version of the song is beautiful. I think you said wonderful, but hey, it's practically the same thing right? ;) Thanks for sharing it and your card as well.

Thank you so much for taking time to comment!
