Rainbow Mojo Give-Away: Day 4 of 10

(If you receive this blog via email and want to participate in the give-away, you must go to the blog and leave a comment there. Simply replying by email will not enter you in the contest.)

The Rainbow Mojo Give-Away is off to a great start. Right after this post goes up, I'll announce the winner of DAY 2. Oh, I just love doing this!

Today, I'm feeling GREEN, but not with envy. Green is my favorite color, the color I love in many shades, whether a luscious lime or an ab-fab apple or a fantastic forest or an obstreperous olive. (Okay, olive isn't obstreperous, but I love that word because it has four consonants in a row. I know. I'm weird.)

Today's GREEN card gets back to some of my favorite things to do with clean-and-simple style: white-on-white, bling, and that GAWGEOUS Martha Stewart butterfly punch.

Doesn't the Fiskar's bracket punch work well with the butterfly? And that Signature Greeting sentiment (PTI) using Dawn McVey's handwriting totally rocks. I wish my handwriting were that cool. Or should I pretend I'm young and hip and call it kewl? Whatever. I like it. Lots.

Here's the Green Mojo for some random lucky person!

Contents:
1. Six lengths of ribbon, including skinny and fat rick rack
2. Two lengths of craft floss
3. Large Prima flowers
4. Two shades of green Flower Soft (YES, Flower Soft!!!!! I'm finally getting the hang of this stuff!)
5. Two shades of small square brads
6. Small round brads
7. Small safety pins
8. SEI and PTI buttons
9. One package of Hero Arts rhinestones

Are you totally pumped? I'm crazy pumped!

Today's Rainbow Mojo Question: How long have you been stamping?

123 comments:

  1. Good morning....green, fresh....new. Green is such a great colour to craft with. As for your question, I have been stamping with my children and my daycare kids for over 20+ years...{ohhh just scared myself when I said that!!} but I have been stamping seriously for myself for approx. 5yrs. only recently really getting deeply addicted....scary how addicted one can become.
    Have a great day.

  2. Hello....my name is Joan and I've been addicted to stamping for about 4 years.
Love your blog, Susan. Goes well with my morning coffee.

  3. Ooooh! Green! Bring on the Springtime!

I have been into paper products all my life, but I started really getting into it in 2006. I made a scrapbook for a college class and from there, things just kept going. It's really interesting to look back at that 2006 scrapbook and compare it to the ones I do now. Poor little 2006 book! But I like it because it just shows that I've learned a lot of new things since that time. I've always made some cards on the side, too, mostly with my scraps and for specific occasions - like birthdays, needing to cheer someone up, etc. Crafting is such a good stress relief!
    Have a great Almost Friday!

  4. Ahhh green. My favorite color. I've been stamping for about 2 years now. I decided to use my hobby to start a card ministry. What a wonderful blessing it has been to me and the receiver of the cards I make. Alot of love goes into my cards. I am so grateful to the person who introduced me to stamping.

  5. Let's see -- I was envious of my friends who stamped during the day while I was still working; so f-i-n-a-l-l-y 10 years ago I retired and a friend who was selling CTMH got me hooked. Now I use mainly SU but other brands creep into my stash once in a while. As many have said, collecting is almost as much fun as using :>)

  6. I started stamping in college... I can't remember exactly which year, it was about junior or senior year, I guess that makes 7-8 years ago.... wow, how time flies!

    ReplyDelete
  7. You always make me smile, so thankyou! I started stamping in 2001, dabbled in it for two years before my kiddos came, let it go, then recently came back to it about six months ago!

  8. Coming up to just over a year of stamping for me Susan! When I first started crafting just a few months previous to that I swore blind I'd never get into stamping as all the designs in the UK just looked so ... bleugh. Thank God I found PTI - everything changed after that!!

  9. Love green - loveitloveitloveit! I think I first tried stamping nearly 20 years ago - quite amazing considering I'm only 21! ;)

  10. A friend of mine tried to get me into stamping YEARS ago but I just couldn't get with it. I retired about 5 years ago and started stamping little by little and now I AM ADDICTED!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for a chance to win some green goodies. Be great for St. Pat's Day!

  11. Green is serene! I started stamping about 2 years ago when i started working at my lcs.

  12. I bought my first rubber stamp (greenery and pine cones) to decorate our Christmas Letter in 1983. Then I got more for my children. They were put away and forgotten. I bought a couple SU sets several years ago, but got more interested in card making in the last year and a half. I do have other hobbies which I also love.

  13. Hi Susan,

I've been scrapbooking since my kids (who are now in their thirties were in H.S. and switched over to stamping and card making about 8 years ago. What a great hobby! All of the kids are gone (even the boomerang who came back home for four years) and now I have my very own craft room! No more conflict over using the dining room table for crafts or family meals!

  14. I have been stamping for about 9
years. I love your CAS style and
visit your blog often. Thanks for
a chance to win these goodies. Green
    is my favorite color for card making;
it goes well with the nature images
    that I seem to prefer.

  15. Susan, I love today's card! I'd have never thought white-on-white was a good idea, until your blog. I am continually surprised how elegant, pristine, and classy it is. And bling, in any color, just tops it off. And I HAVE that MS butterfly punch.......and I'm off to make your card. Oh, I've been stamping about 4 years now......and I'm amazed when I look at some of those early things I did! I've come a long way, baby!

  16. I've been stamping for about 18 years. Well, collecting stamps for 18 years but actually stamping, maybe 1/2 that time!!!

  17. Susan, I always love your white on white cards. I've never done one like that.
About four years ago I worked with a really great fourth grade teacher. I wanted to get her a nice birthday gift and asked another staff member who is a SU rep. I thought I would get some stamps for the teacher. I ended up buying supplies for myself and made the teacher a nice set of cards instead. I was hooked!
It wasn't a big surprise since I've always loved being creative and making things.

I have been stamping off and on for about 13 years! I have been stamping on a regular basis for probably about 6 years or so.

    Kewl card! ;)

  20. 8 years....I was teaching 3rd grade and one of my students gave me a basket of beautiful cards for Christmas. His mom was an SU demo. The cards were beautiful - I had never heard of SU - she did a workshop later in the year that I attended and the rest is history....

    ReplyDelete
  21. Why do your simple white cards always look so beautiful? When I make one, it just looks like I didn't even try! Love your card, and for me it's been 3 years...You sure can accumulate alot in that short time span...And spend alot too! LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Beautiful card!!

I've been into some form of papercrafts for longer than I care to remember but the *real* stamping addiction started about a year and a half ago.

  23. Stamp addict for nearly 12 years. Thanks for the chance to win some green goodness!!

  24. I have just recently stumbled across your blog, and am I ever grateful! :) I love your style...sooo inspiring! Thank you for sharing your incredible talents.

I have been stamping for about 10 yrs. Starting out with scrapbooking, making cards has now become my passion! There's just something magical about brightening someone's day!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yeah for green, my favorite color as well!!! And I too love all shades. My fav is a dark foresty green but I love bright limes and yellowy olives as well!! I have been stamping for about 4 years now. I went to a SU card making class that the secretary of my sons school was holding. I knew I was hooked on that very first card.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I have been stamping for a couple of years. I started scrapbooking 10 years ago and I seem to be making more cards now than scrapbooking. I love to see your email in my inbox every morning. I love clean simple lines.

  27. Oh Susan -- whenever I try a card like this, it looks like I forgot to finish it. I so admire your style!

I have been stamping for about 10 years. I started as a die hard scrapper who wanted nothing to do with rubber and ink. I went to my first SU! demo and it was downhill for my bank account.

Thanks for another great opportunity to win.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Love, love this card. The bracket punch is a nice touch with the bling. I have been stamping for 19 years. I have taken over different rooms of the house over the years, I am now in the largest room I can take over. Time to either stop buying, or purge. I will have to start purging.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I just discovered this blog and I have to say what a gorgeous card and now I have to have that bracket punch. I have been stamping since I started to scrapbook about 8 years ago although my stamping has been simple. Your creations are so inspiring and thanks for the chance to win.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Ohh, an easy one! I have been stamping for about 4 years (since my girls were born!) Nothing compared to a great many of you but I hope what I lack in experience I make up for with enthusiasm!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Ok, this must be my lucky day - I love green. It's my fav color. BTW, I love your simple comment requests - easy peasy. I've been stamping about 10 years but serious about it for about 5. I shudder to think about how many dollars I have invested.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Oh, my! I love olive! I've been stamping for over 25 years! I remember having to order from a catalog for companies we now find at retailers! I'm old!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Speaking of enabling - that butterfly punch is, as you say, gorgeous. I thought I had all the MS butterfly punches (and there are A LOT!), but, as always, there's one more I NEED! I hope all these companies realize that even unintentionally, you help their sales!

    ReplyDelete
  34. PS - going to look up obstreperous - it certainly sounds good!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Ooh, nice card Susan. I'm loving the white on white combo :) It works so well - clean & simple.

Do you know, I can't think how long I have been stamping...

Perhaps, 2, 2 and 1/2 years? At least! I have been seriously card making since I was 18. I'll be 21 next month and I love it more and more with each day!

Have you ever been to a craft show, Susan? I am going to my first this weekend! So excited!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. I also love using green in my card designs. It's one of my favorite colors. I have been stamping for about a year. Thanks for sharing your creations with us.

  38. Greens right now seem to be my favorite color. I use them a lot.
As for stamping, mmmmmm probably since 2004 and getting more serious as the years accumulate

    ReplyDelete
  39. How long have I been stamping? Hmmm . . . . to be honest, I've been collecting stamping supplies for a lot longer than I've been using them! I first started buying stuff about 6 or 7 years ago. But I've started using them more only in about the last year or so.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Beautiful card, Susan. Love white on white cards they are always soooo elegant. I think after blue, I'm very drawn to green and like to mix them together...hmmmm I wonder if that's because my eyes are hazel????
I've been happily stamping for 15 years and see no end in sight:)

    ReplyDelete
  41. I have been stamping for just under three years. I was fortunate to be turned on to this world by a wonderful lady at the Australian embassy in Beijing. She had more stamps and supplies than I have ever seen anywhere else! How I miss them! lol.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Love the butterfly punch too, and I also like how you 'centered' the bracket punch! One of my pet peeves is when things like that are not even.
I've been stamping for eleven years; got hooked when the stamp store in town had some classes. It's neat to see how my cards have changed since then!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Green's my favorite, too. I started stamping in 2007. My neighbor invited me to a Stampin' Up workshop. I was hooked!

  44. Green is one of my top three favorite colors (with lovely white and red), so I've got my fingers and toes crossed for today!

I first learned stamping even existed in August 2007, when a friend told me about it. I instantly knew I wanted to do it--because I'm a little designer in my head, but I've never been able to draw. With stamping, the drawing is done for me! So anyway, I immediately started buying stamping stuff, and loved it and was so happy, and I looked at stamping blogs and loved them and was so happy and bookmarked more and more of them and learned more and more--and then after several months I had the stunning insight, "Hey, maybe I should START STAMPING!" So to answer your question strictly truthfully, I started stamping sometime in Jan or Feb 2008. Really I have three hobbies: stamping, buying stamping items, and reading blogs about stamping (yours is right up there with Nichole Heady's in my world). You bring a daily dose of beauty and joy to my life--thank you!

  45. good morning susan!
i have been a crafty girl forever. i once made myself a pair of flip flops out of paper cuz my parents wouldn't buy me any. i think i was 6.
about 10 yrs ago, i agreed to go to an SU stamping night just so i could visit with my friend who was also attending. when i stepped into the demonstrators house, i felt like dorothy opening the door of her black.and.white house and stepping into the color world of oz. wow!! i have been totally hooked ever since.
of course this story is not complete without the part that also explains how i found SIMPLICITY, and now have more fun and receive more joy from my stamping than i ever, ever, ever imagined!!
    thank you.

  46. Green is good! Beats the winter grays that have been hanging around. I've been inking up rubber for 15 years but it feels like forever. Of all the crafts I've done this has been the one that has carried me through my life the best.

  50. I started stamping in the very early 90's. I bought a snowflake stamp at a flea market, and was totally confused about ink and embossing. The stamp sat there for a while until I figured it all out. I'm still figuring!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I've been stamping for about 15 years. I was invited to a stamp party and almost didn't go because I thought it was for postage stamp collectors. Hah! What a lovely surprise...and expensive. My quilting and weaving days are long over now. Green is my favorite color for today. How timely.

  52. Hello, Susan (I would've put an exclamation mark there, but I know it bugs you) I love your blog, and I check it every day. Thank you for the chance to win the beautiful embellishments! I've liked rubber stamps since I first saw them back in 1988, but I didn't really start until about 10 years ago. Thanks for all of your inspriation!

I've been stamping for about 15 years, but only began seriously stamping in the past 5 years.

  59. I love your collection of green for the giveaway! Thanks for sharing with us! And your card is lovely. I love the white on white, and the punches!
I started stamping in '86 when my daughter was in pre-school. I thought it would be fun to make party invitations, gift tags etc for her school pals. Got interested when I attended a Hero Arts demo at a Hallmark store.

Love this card - CAS perfection.
Thanks for being so generous and sharing your wonderful stash.

  66. I love GREEN! I have been stamping since College when I started wanting to make my own cards to give away rather than buying cards from the store. Now I am totally hooked!

    ReplyDelete
  67. I love the "green" card. Simple is so elegant. I started stamping when we moved to UT and I was invited to a "DOTS" party! They have since changed their name to "Close To My Heart". So, my 'guess' is that I have been stamping for approximately 16 to 17 years now. Can't believe it has been that long. What fun this has been so far.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I love your blog. You never fail to put a smile on my face. :)
I started scrapbooking in 2001 and am quite sure (I think!) that stamping was right there with it!
Thanks for entertaining us all with your Rainbow Mojo Give-Away!

  69. I just love this white card, it is so elegant! Green is not my favorite stand alone color but use it for accessories. 71. Love the card, of course!
I've been stamping since early 2003, when I learned in order to make my wedding invitations. Obsession quickly followed!
Oh, and I love "obstreperous" as well...I even have a totally random and not very good children's book on the topic.

  72. I have had stamps since I was a wee girl, but started stamping and making cards more seriously about 5 years ago.

  73. I do like today's clean-with-green card! I have been making blue and green cards today as thank yous to the aunt we stayed with during the Olympics and the friend who checked in on our house and cat while we were gone. So maybe you'll be replacing some of my supplies! :P
I've always loved paper crafting. I started aimlessly collecting stamps about 10 years ago, but got seriously (except it's not serious, its fun) into card-making about two years ago. Now I look for any excuse I can to make someone a card!
    P.S. I'm heading to Mike's today with a 50% off coupon -- MS butterfly punches, here I come! :P

  81. Hooray - Green Day is here! I love green and strangely, I've always loved the word obstreperous. A college roomie used to give us a word-of-the-week and it was one of them. This was in the sixties, so I no longer recall most of them. Fun to say it out loud.

Anyway, I've been stamping for 13 years. My hubby likes to tell people I've dragged him into stamp stores from coast to coast in that time. It happens to be true!

  84. Hmmmm. I started about 2 years ago, I think. Which was very funny, at the time, because I never, ever sent cards. EVER! I just liked the creative outlet, and I could finish a card so much faster than a scrapbook page. Now, I'm back to scrapbooking as well, and can say I love both equally, for totally different reasons. This sentiment is one of my favorites from that set! So perfect for giving to so many people.

  85. I see there are lots of responses and I'm having fun reading them :)
I've been stamping since I was a teen making my own stationery. I've always been a fanatic about monograms and such and stamping was the easiest way to achieve what I wanted. Now I'm just 51, (just) so am pretty good at it by now- lol, I think. I'm also a fan of embossing and do so on most cards. Makes a label special, I think.
Thanks for your inspirations - your blog is an inspiration and I always know I'll enjoy my visit :)

  86. I have been stamping for 6 years. I started just after I retired from my job to have something to do to fill my time. I should have continued working, considering the expense of this hobby. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  87. I've been papercrafting for about 12 years, and doing some light stamping the whole time.

I started stamping much more about 5 years ago. :)

    Love the green stuff.

  88. I have only been STAMPING for a little over a year, but I've been making cards since 2007. :) Green is my FAV color too Susan!

    ReplyDelete
  89. I love the simplicity and style of your cards! I have only been stamping since summer 2009 but I have spent enough money on supplies that it seems longer. There's always some other cool stamp or tool that I must have!

    ReplyDelete
  90. I started stamping in Jan 09 became a demo in Aug I just love it.

    ReplyDelete
  91. What a clever way to make a more interesting all white (except for the green eyelets of course) card. I really like the idea of the bracket punch on this.

I have been stamping since 2004. I used to watch the Scrapbooking show on the DIY channel back then. Shelly Gardner (founder of SU) was a guest several times. I loved how she did stamping to accent her sb pages. I wanted to do that too! So I found a SU demo in my area (who now happens to be one of my best friends) went to a workshop and I was hooked. Now I hardly ever scrap, and when I do, I hardly ever stamp on my pages. But that's ok. I like the more instant gratification of stamping/cardmaking.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I love green. If I could wear it everyday I would. I have green on right now, as I write this comment.

How long have I been stamping? I have to think about that a bit. My start actually came AFTER I started to design stamps for some of the companies on the net. Then I figured that I should know how to use what I was creating. That's how it started, and I figure that was about 1999. :)

    ReplyDelete
  93. Hi Susan - fun blog candy! I've been stamping for over 30 years! Yeah! Stamping has come a long way since then! It gets more exciting and sophisticated all the time, but simple is still my style!
Thanks for the chance to win!

  95. Another great card, Susan! Ah, green - my favorite color, too! I have been stamping for going on eight years. My, how time flies!!

    ReplyDelete
  96. Oh, I so dearly love green. This is the day I want to win more than any other!!!

I have been stamping for 3 years. I was a die-hard, absolutely passionate, published scrapbooker. Never thought I'd want to make something that someone was just going to throw away. Three kids later, I find stamping to be a smaller scale way to satisfy my need to create! (I snicker as I type that, however, because there is nothing "small scale" about my "collection" of stamping accoutrements!)

Ohhhh, I hope I win! Please, please, please!

And thank you, Susan, for the generous goodies and for the inspiration!

  98. Ohh, lovely green. So bright and cheerful. I have been stamping for over 10 years. I can't remember exactly when I started, sometime in the late 90's. I am totally addicted and have a room full of stuff to prove it.

Love green! I've been stamping for about 5 years.

  100. I've been a stamper for about 7-8 years, more seriously since I've been in a stamping club; and I do try to be a stamper and not just a collector!

  101. I've only been stamping for three years, but it's amazing how much money I've spent on so few supplies! I think you have to stamp for at least a year before you discover your style - at which point you can toss most of the supplies you've amassed! My aha! moment came when I saw your cards on Splitcoast.

  102. I've been stamping for about 5 years. I'm lovin' Dawn's Signature Series too! I just used it last night to make a card... sorry, no green in that one, but I did use a green pen to sign my name! :)

  103. Green...SPRING! The beginning of the coloring up of our surroundings. Whoo Hoo! What is not to love?
I have been stamping on a regular basis for about 4 years now...it's the perfact craft for me since I can't draw..have little flair for fashion, but can copy with the best of them!
Except your cards....I LOVE your cards..love the CAS look...but when I try it...I have to have background...and a bauble here, a bow there...and some bling too! .sigh.

  104. Yea, green! I first was introduced to stamping about 12 years ago. Then I dropped it but picked it up again about 6 years ago. Have been addicted ever since. Thanks for doing the giveaways!

  105. Hi this is Juhi, your card is very pretty, what a great use of the bracket punch!!

Though I have been stamping for little over an year, I am not much of a stamper, I use it mostly for backgrounds and sentiments.

    Hugs,
    Juhi

  106. I love your cards, they are my inspiration!

I've only been stamping for about 4-5 months now, but it's amazing how much of a collection I've amassed in such a short time!

    :)

  107. My addiction to stamping started about 2 years ago! Somedays I feel like I am nothing but a professional buyer, and then other days your CAS style gives me the motivation to actually complete some projects and use my "stash!"

  108. How long have I been stamping? Days fade into each other and we forget what we did, but the cards are still there to see what we have accomplished in eleven years. Marge Penley

  109. I started stamping about 14 years ago - still have the first D.O.T.S. catalogue that I ordered from. How the stamping world has changed since then!
You've done another great CAS card again today

  110. I started about 5 years ago. I have very little time to do it but really enjoy it when I just take time....helps me get my mind off my 'to do' list that never seems to get smaller....

  111. Awesome I can totally use some more green prettiness for my slowly accumulating supplies. I have started stamping since last October and been falling deeper and deeper in love!

    I love your green card!

  113. O.K. I had to look up the word "obstreperous" in the dictionary. I knew spending hours on these blogs would be justified in some way. Yes! I am expanding my vocabulary!! I have been addicted to stamping for about 4 years. Go green!

  114. I bought my first set of foam backed stamps, tiny little inch square designs, 19 years ago to make little notepads for my son's teacher. I didn't do anything with them for years, until 10 years ago a neighbor invited me to a SU home party. I then started stamping a little through the years, but it wasn't until the last year or so that I've become addicted to all things cardmaking. I try to explain to non-crafters that I can't help myself, I HAVE to stamp! Thanks for the chance to enhance my stash!

  115. Gee that's a hard question! I have been making cards for years, and did my son's wedding invitations 7 years ago, my dd this year. Started scrapbooking 3 years ago.
Stamping.... oh being a milatary wife let me think where I lived! LOL you will understand that Susan! at least 15 + years.
Still lots to learn as I stayed pretty basic for long time.
    Thanks for the chances!!!

  116. I have been stamping for about two years. I was hooked from the first time I did it. I went to a SU demonstration at my church for a summer ladies night. That was all it took!! Love your work. I love, love your style. Thanks for sharing all your goodies.

  117. Oh my goodness... 15 years now. My daughter-in-law got me started when we went to the hobby shop on base at McConnell AFB. Wow, I didn't realize it had been that long!

  118. Hi Susan,
I have always been a crafter of some sort ~ needlework, etc. My daughter had a SU! party at my house about 6 years ago...and I was "hooked" lol She later apologized for adding yet another hobby to my vast collection, but I love this one the best of them all!! Since I began my subscription to your blog, I read it every day with my morning coffee at work (shhhh)! Thank you!

  119. Love the prize and love the question too.....smiles.

I have been stamping since November of 2008. I just recently made my year mark - but the time has passed wonderfully well for me. Stamping, and all that it entails, has truly enriched my life. I used to be all computer-geeky - and now I'm creative too! It's really all about the community of people - not the rubber and wood.

Thanks for being you and providing this WONDERFUL blog!

  121. I've been stamping since 2004 and seem to get more sucked into this hobby every year. Now if my kids would give me more time to stamp. But before you know it, they will be going to school and I'll be wishing they could stay home with me.

  122. Oh my gosh, I had to think about this one. I think it has been six years. That seems like such a long time to me!

  123. Yikes--21 years?! Started collecting little stamps, one for each of the daily/weekly themes for my grades K-3 class, wanted a different one for each day for their papers I graded, class newsletter, daily behavior chart. . . . Then I went to my first SU party, hosted a demo at school, placed a combined $800 first order. That demonstrator never contacted me again, so I had to become one myself. What fun now to teach adults something, no kids in sight
