Rainbow Mojo Give-Away: Day 10 of 10

For rules on the Rainbow Mojo Give-Away, please see the first post. Remember, to enter today's give-away, you must post a comment on this post, not via email!

Here we are, at Day 10 of 10! Whew. This has been so much fun! *giggle*

Of course, we're out of rainbow colors, and all that's left is Neutrals: Cream and Brown. Now, these are colors I just don't use that often (unless pairing brown with a pastel...yummy!), which is a shame because they really are amazingly rich and rustic, elegant and warm...well, let's just say versatile. They had to be part of the give-away, if only so I can share PTI's twine in cream and natural with someone because I LOVE this stuff. See.

Isn't that bow the CUTEST!!!! I've seen a lot of these in the new Hero Arts catalog and on blogs, so I just had to try tying one for myself. Totally cool! PTI's twine is a dream to work with compared to the other icky stuff from Hobby Lobby I've used in the past. If you don't have some PTI twine, get some!

I colored in the row of flowers with Prismacolor pencils. Then, I accented the centers of the flowers with brown half-pearls, which sadly don't show up well in the picture. Of course I had to add a pack to the Cream-And-Brown Mojo!

Contents
1. Six lengths of ribbon
2. Two lengths of PTI twine
3. Brown and cream PTI buttons
4. Craft floss (for less rustic looks)
5. Brads
6. Light brown flock
7. Reflections self-adhesive half-pearls

The Last Rainbow Mojo Give-Away Question: What would you like to see more of/less of on Simplicity? More CASification make-overs? More Simplicity Tips? Less chatter? More chatter? More techniques used simply? More pears? Whaddaya want?

After 344 posts, over 91,500 hits, and over 170,000 page views, and nearly 600 subscribers in just under a year, I guess the message I started with...simplicity is the ultimate sophisication...means something to you. I'd like to continue putting that message out here in fresh and fun ways. Thanks ever so much for embracing the message and providing so much encouragement and support for this little blog I thought no one would read.

  1. I love the CAS make-overs, and would love to see more of those. Just keep being simple and elegant you, and I will love everything you make (well almost everything... there was that one card, that time... oh, nevermind, just kidding with you!)

  2. Mornin' Susan! I love today's card! I have not made a card from the craft paper, although like you said, I've seen a bunch of them lately, and they're so pretty! I just didn't think of them as "feminine," but examples on different blogs (PTI's especially!)has shown me they certainly can be. Yours is certainly feminine, and one I can case! Thanks a bunch! As for your question, I guess I'd like more how-to's on your blog. I've copied so many of your ideas (notecards especially --- I love the edges colored!) and lots of your Christmas gifts. Love the chatter and humor --- you make the start of my day!

  4. Today's card is GORGEOUS! I am a newbie to your site, but I tell you what, I check is EVERY day! I love it. I love the cards, of course, but I especially love the easy way your blog reads and your humor. For me, I would like to hear more about techniques, because I am always wanting to learn new tricks.

    Keep up the awesome work!

  5. Your card today is GORGEOUS! (I need to find another word) Love the HA daisy stamp and you've used it perfectly. I can't think of anything more you could do that you're not already doing. Love your sense of humor.

  6. I've only been reading your blog for a few weeks, but I love it. I honestly don't think you need to change a thing. Simplicity is good!

    ReplyDelete
  7. The card is divine! I love your chatter, its so refreshing! Please don't stop! I love to see more of your thought process for CAS cards, although you do do that enough. I had to rack my brain for something to say!

  8. Hey Susan -
Great card! For such a white cardstock lover, you sure do rock the kraft!
I must say, when a new post from Simplicity pops up in my blog reader, I get a little bit happier -- keep up the great work! Of all the blogs I read (and there are lots - I'm just a little obsessed), yours has the clearest voice and some of the loveliest cards of them all. Don't change a thing. Unless you want to, of course, because I trust your judgment. :)
    Have a pleasant day!

  9. Susan, I love your website as is! I look at it nearly every day and am always amazed by your cards. Today's card is excellent. Thanks for being here for those of us who need inspiration.

  12. I love your blog, don't change a thing! It's a fun read and I have gotten so many ideas from you.
Since there are many techniques I'm not familiar with yet, I do appreciate it when you take the time for "how to" posts. Other than that I wouldn't know what to ask for, you already cover everything!

such a sweet card. I like your blog
just the way it is--doing a variety
of CAS. Thanks for all the inspiration that you provide!

  17. great card and kraft cards are my favorite - i'm probably opposite of you there as i tend to not use the bright colors so much. love your blog since we have the cards, books and military in common (altho you are much younger than i am). keep it up because i really enjoy it all. thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Totally love your very beautiful card. I also love PTI's twine - I used it all of the time. You can color it, of course, with Copics but I really like the rustic colors. Just keep giving us more of the same. Like Joan, I love your humor.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Another great card! I can't believe this is #10 of 10, so sad.

I love your blog just as it is. Keep it simple - if it's not broke, don't fix it. Thanks for blogging.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I thoroughly enjoy your blog - keeping it simple is how we should all live our lives! So keep your blog as it is simple and classy!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I have an unopened package of Kraft cardstock that has been waiting for me to be inspired -- check and check! This is so lovely!

I really enjoy the CASE-ification of more complex cards. It's great to see some of the over-the-top cards that are seen in publications get a makeover. And, of course, dirty minded English major ramblings.

Thanks so much for all the tips and techniques you share so generously.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Susan, I've followed your blog for a long time now. It's like starting my day having a smile and giggle over a cup of coffee with a good friend! When making a card, I often finding myself saying, "What would Susan do?" :) Love your design tips, CAS makeovers, product recommendations and life observations. Simple is good!

    ReplyDelete
  23. your kraft card is amazing! I'd like to see you work more with kraft.

    ReplyDelete
  24. hehe, these are the colors I reach for the most and since I don't own any PTI twine I'm going to cross my fingers and toes for this one :-)

As for what I'd like to see here...I love your tips and explainations as to why you did what you did or what you did and then changed to make it better!! Oh yeah, and I'd personally like to see a few more pears on here!! LOL!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I just want more of the SAME! I love your blog! Could you work in some anthropomorphic fruit? And also octopus stuff! Not enough octopus action for me.

    Love today's card.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Susan I think 'Simplicity' is wonderful! It never fails to inspire me to keep working hard on my own design efforts. I like the variety you provide in terms of clean and simple cards. They look so easy but, if you are a beginner or even a novice, these cards can be hard because you need a certain level of confidence to 'KISS'. I have to say your chatter always makes me smile and often leaves me considering my own foibles. Keep on blogging!

    ReplyDelete
  27. All I can say is "why on Earth haven't I found your blog earlier???" I love what you do because I love what's clean and simple even if in reality that simple part is not always so... I do not know your blog enough to say what I want from you, maybe just to continue! And I'm surely gonna be inspired! Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I love your blog just the way it is. Brown is my favorite color, much to my husband's dismay. So since he won't let me put brown all over the house I make lots of cards using browns. Lynnette

  29. Susan!

I have just LOVED all the creations you have been making during your give a way....And I have to say what a wonderful thing you are doing and how appreciative I know everyone is for all your hard work....Bagging, photograhing and making a card that shows the different elements...You are so kind....Hugs....Cookie :D

  30. I will never again look at a pear in the way that I used to see it! You have corrupted me! I do think I would love to see more tips and CASifications! Love the chatter too!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Awwww, kraft. As I have gotten older, I love the browns and creams, especially when paired with pastels. This card is gorgeous! I would love to see more of the same, I was just introduced to your blog, and I also love simplicity. Too much scares lots of people away from stamping. Oh, I could never make that is what they say, but anyone can make a gorgeous simple card and who wouldn't be thrilled to receive one of your cards? They are simply
beautiful. I love what you are doing, more of the same would be perfect.

    thanks for sharing.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I love the Kraft card, what a great idea! I love the simplicity so keep it up!

  36. I am perfectly happy with what you have been doing, so I say just keep up the good work. I enjoy the chatter, the tip and techniques, but most of all your cards. I still have a hard time with simplicity myself but I love your cards! Maybe throw in a video now and again :-)

    ReplyDelete
  37. Love, love, love your CAS style. :) Would love to see more makeovers, more chatter, more tips, more anything! Thank you for being my CAS go to girl!

  39. Just keep doing what you're doing. It works for me! I do love that you describe what you did for each card. Sometimes it's hard to tell in a photo. My fave post of yours is when you fearlessly used up some of your fave embellies. You inspired me to start using some of my favorites as well (though I still couldn't do it all at once). I've been shopping in my own store & finding lots of fun things to use. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Don't change a thing! This card is beautifully simply, the give-away has been fun reading, I get inspired.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Super cute kraft card! Love the bow -
Your blog is perfect just the way it is - why do you think you have so many visitors?? Your "chatter" makes me laugh - love all the tips too! Thanks for being such an inspiration to so many people!

    ReplyDelete
  42. The only thing that I think you could use more of is more time in your day to post more and more cards! You are one of the greatest stampers/designers I have ever come across and I have been a fan for such a long time on SCS! Love your blog just the way it is!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Your blog is first for me every morning. I admire your reliability. I was gone for 5 days and I have 5+ posts to catch up on. You have created the perfect mix of tips and technique on CAS cards along with humor.

I hope you are able to keep all your posts active, as I find myself going back and searching for cards that stick out in my mind that you posted previously. Using the LABELS doesn't always get me to the right post.

    Thank you. Well done!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Lovely simple card. As usual! I can't think of any way to improve your blog - I just love the way it is! Keep up the great work!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Great card today! I need to get some kraft cardstock to play with. I can't believe I've gone this long without any! I would love to see more of the same from your blog. I've come to really enjoy everything you share with us! I love the "CASification make-overs", so maybe some more of those! Thanks so much for the chance to win your awesome giveaways!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Congratulations on your blog! I love it as is so no changes for me. I really enjoy your humor.

    Thanks for the giveaways!

    ReplyDelete
  47. So cute! I love the white daisies and the thread with the brown paper. Very cute layout.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Me too........don't change one single thing! Just be you.

On the red card, you had all the tiny dots lined up such that the adjacent circles matched perfectly. That kind of precision defies my best efforts, so if you have any tips or tricks.....

    ReplyDelete
  49. Brown is my 'black'. It goes with everything! What do I want to see more of from you? More of the same! You keep your posts light, not afraid to say if something didn't work, ask for thoughts, etc. Keep up the good work; I enjoy visiting you daily!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I love your blog just the way it is. In my opinion, you couldn't make it any better. Just about everyday I have to show my husband your blog and more than once I have said "I want to be like her when I grow up". lol

Your cards and simply gorgeous, simply awesome, simply simple. I love them!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I know I will love whatever you show/tell us. Your cards are so perfect! I appreciate your design tips. I especially like when you CASify a card. Thanks for keeping me inspired and entertained every day!

    ReplyDelete
  53. What a simple, plan card today. So easy. I like the blog the way it is and, also, your humor. If you want to try different things I will leave it up to you.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Like everyone else who has commented, I agree that your blog is perfect as is. Your chatter is amusing, instructive and provocative. Your cards are inspirational. Your blog is dependable.

I realize that 'dependable' can have connotations of boring; in this case, it is anything but! What I mean is that we readers can count on you to entertain, inspire and teach us each day, which is a rarity. So, thank you.

And because you asked the question, I'm sure you'd really like some answers that you can work with, so here's part two of my response. Like Suzanne, I would appreciate seeing more of your simplification of busy cards. You have perfected that approach and are helping us learn how to strip down a card to its sophisticated simplicity.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I guess I want more of the same! Your great cards, lessons and thoughts that go along with them are what keep me coming back. Your fun personality shines through it all! Keep up the good work! Thanks for showing us that CAS can go 'craft' too!

I say - keep doing what're you're doing! :) I am one who LOVES chatter, personal stories, etc. So I never have a problem reading about what is going on in someone's day to day along with a fab card or scrapbook layout!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Keep doing what you're doing! You are doing a great job. Good explanations - I love how you explain your thoughts processes and when you do a makeover. I recommend your blog to lots of friends!

    ReplyDelete
  59. I want you to keep doing what you're doing, (if it ain't broken, don't fix it) and you got to where you are because of what you're doing now. Love it all!!! Thanks for your marathon of give-aways. This was fun!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Just keep up the great blog! Your blog is the only stamping blog I look for on my google reader each day. I love that you are not trying to sell me anything! I appreciate your honest opinion on products. Thanks for many great ideas!

    ReplyDelete
  61. PEARS! *snort* Seriously, your blog is my go-to reading for its CAS cards and my kind of humour. I do like when you CAS-ify a fussier card, since I am much more likely to just glaze over and move on to the next pic. You show how to find the CAS backbone underneath, as it were.
As for today's card -- beautiful! I've been meaning to get some kraft cs, but haven't yet. Now I have another incentive!

    ReplyDelete
  62. It's no wonder you have so many "hits" and comments on your CAS creations and your blog. It's one of my favorites each day. What more do I want? You can't improve on perfection!!!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Your blog just the way is, is the reason why I come to it every day. Just keep keeping on.

  66. Susan, I am perfectly content with your blog -- chatter, humor, cards, tips, CASification. Of course, were you to do something new, I'm sure I would love that, too. Surprise me! I look forward to reading your blog. Sometimes I save it as in the best for last, and sometimes I just can't wait that long. Thanks for sharing.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Love this, love your blog just the way it is.....your chatter is fun, entertaining and endearing to me. I enjoy visiting you very day!

    ReplyDelete
  68. I love your humour - always good for the soul when the day is less than forgiving. As well, I just love your inspiration. I always walk away feeling like I could create something fantastic! You have taught me much so, more of that would be appreciated.

    ReplyDelete
  69. You are real with a touch of humor with your readers ~ thanks! Although I enjoy white backgrounds, the kraft card today was a nice change, so continue to incorporate colored backgrounds from time to time. That is the only suggestion I can think of...

    ReplyDelete
  70. I love cream and brown too!

I want to see more of everything - but especially techniques and tips. :)

    ReplyDelete
  74. Oops, forgot to answer the question. Whatever you post is fine with me. I love all your cards!

    ReplyDelete
  75. I really love this card, Susan! What a great stamp, and you colored it so well.

I'd like to see more of the same:) I like your blog just the way it is.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I like using neutrals and have become a real fan of kraft. Funny, I have the flower stamp used today and was just looking at it yesterday, thinking I should dust it off!

I have a feeling that I'll like anything you do with Simplicity. I definitely look forward to the chatter every single day. I appreciate a supplies list and I learn from your description of what you tried and why. MORE of everything, please!!!

Thanks for your generosity and for the fun questions you had us answer. You're a peach!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Just MORE of all you do...more cards, more commentary, more suggestions of what to buy and then how to use it. MORE, MORE, MORE of all you do. You do it so well! I love CAS stamping...it beats every other kind of stamping hands down!

    ReplyDelete
  78. I love your blog, and your chatter is perfect. Your writing style is easy to read, entertaining and has a sense of humor. I have been inspired to try to make more CAS cards since discovering you. My old motto was, "If in doubt, add more stuff!" It's been a challenge to think CAS, but I've enjoyed trying.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I wouldn't change anything. I love checking my email every morning to see what you've created. It's always amazing.

    ReplyDelete

Cute little flowers! I like your artistic design tips that I can use for all cards. Just the right amount of chatter to tell us why you make a card the way you do. Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  85. Bwahh - more PEARS! Too funny. Your blog is my daily feel-good moment; please don't change it! Sure, add some techniques, and measurements would be nice (why you chose a 5" square card for this design, or 4.25 for that design, or landscape vs portrait), but please don't change the chatter! You make me smile and you inspire me.

  86. I love hearing how you come up with your card styles, and your views/tips on ink, stamps, embellishments. Your cards rock....I find your style suits my tastes. My problem is getting my creations to look more simple and less cluttered.

Thanks for the time you spend on your blog. I like that your comments aren't just about cards but also important life events in yours and others. Lincoln Hammetts struggles definitely touched me....thanks for drawing attention to his fight. Hope my prayers hope him and his family.

Why on earth did you think no one would be interested? I think we have proved you wrong :)
I love the neutrals on this card which is just adorable.
Thanks so much for the 10 days of fun; I had to miss some :( but it has been great reading all the posts. Sad I didn't win but I'm sure if I had I wouldn't have used your stuff because how could I part with something my hero had touched ;) ;)

  91. I love when I open my email and there is an email from Simplicity. I always look at it first and then save it to folder I have set up. I am not really sure why I save them, since I can just come to your blog, but I do. I can't really think of anything to change or add to you blog. I think it is perfect the way it is.

  96. I am into making more vintage looking projects right now and using the neutral colors work quite well.
Thank you for giving all of us the power to be simple in our designs. Your blog is the first one I open each day. Love the occasional use of a simple bling! Keep up your style!!!

    ReplyDelete
  97. I would not change anything. I love your style - it's simply beautiful!!! And I love the chatter. Makes me smile all the time.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Who said, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"? I absolutely love you blog, your website and your style. I love getting your daily email and can't wait to see what you have come up with - the hard part is not going to your website and seeing what is coming the next day - sometimes I can't wait but then don't have anything to look at the next day - darn, I hate when that happens.

    Bottom line - don't change a thing !!!!

    ReplyDelete
  99. I'll say it with simplicity, "Stay the same!" Love your mix.

    ReplyDelete
  100. If it's not broken, don't fix it! There is sanity in CAS. I never feel like I'm on the outside looking in.....sure do thank you for that. Keep on girlie, we luv 'ya. Sharon NJ

  101. Obviously I didn't read the above comment by Pam K. Hey, great minds think alike ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  102. Ahh, more pears and butterfly butts...

I just received both colors of twine from PTI yesterday - it IS yummy! And since I also received a pack of their sampler cardstock, I would love to see cards showing that white space doesn't have to be white.

Other than that, no changes. A lot of people assume that clean and simple is easy. It's not. You just make it look that way. So I'd say, "Dance with the guy that brung you."

    ReplyDelete
  103. Beautiful card!!

Love your blog. It is perfect.

  105. I love your cards, and the simplicity be it fun, happy, sympathy or elegant. As for the blog nothing, you don't need to change a thing. I loved the link to tying that bow the other day and just reading and learning and sometimes trying out a similar card or just enjoying perusing the blog! And enjoy the odd tidbit of your life too.

  106. The "colour" scheme in this neutral card is beautiful, so fresh and classy. And the bow is perfect.
