Technical Difficulties and Good Things

Don't you just hate it when you screw something up because of stupid? At least if it's someone else's stupid, you have the satisfaction of blaming them. When it's your own stupid, however, you have no one to blame but yourself.

I don't have a picture of a card for you today because of my stupid. There are cards to be photographed, but there is no camera with a charged battery with which to photograph them.

So you're getting a picture I took yesterday before I killed my camera battery (oh, yeah, my stupid). Instead of showing you something I made with my new toys, purchased at Michael's and ever so much fun, I'm sharing the photo of the toys themselves.

It's hard to tell in the photo, but the Martha Stewart punches are the hydrangea ones. Can you just imagine the joy with which I dove into all this goodness yesterday afternoon? Oh, yeah.

If you're looking for goodness to buy, I'll be posting some more grab boxes of stamps and other stuff (but mostly stamps) on this here blog thingy sometime next week. As always, the boxes will be a flat price, including shipping, and will be available for sale to people in the United States via PayPal.

What good things for stamping have you bought lately? What things are you looking at for possible purchase? Inquiring minds and all that....

  3. Fun toys! I have those punches, too. Those stamps look very tempting, too. ;-)

Right now I am quite taken ... ok, obsessed ... with Hero Arts shadow inks and Memory Box dies. I did buy a smaller set of Derwent Inktense pencils for watercolouring, but I haven't gone over to the dark side (Copics) yet. LOL

  6. I recently got two Martha Stewart punch around the page sets. They were $5.99 each at Marshall's. I also got one of her Punch All Over the Page punches. It was $4.99. I was absolutely delighted to get them. Even 40% off is more than I would spend for them :)
I'm looking forward to seeing what you make with your new items.

  7. Too bad about the stupid camera. Blame it, OK? I looks like there will be some lovely output with these. I noticed the OWH stamp right away, as well as the X-acto blades. One can never have too many of them. I haven't bought a thing for quite a while. I need to use up what I have...and I need to find/make time to do it. Some wonderful blogger whose initials are SR did send me some brads from her abundant stash, though. Nope; haven't done anything with them yet, either. ;-(

  8. Ooh, I can't wait to see what you made with that OWH set, I just received this one, and I've only used it once. :-) You just reminded me to charge my camera... ;-)

  9. Hmmm... your comment section is different. Is that part of Blogger's "new look" that I've heard about?

But, more importantly, on to the discussion of new stamping goodies! :) I've not seen that OWH stamp set at my local Michaels yet. It looks great. And I've had the MS hydrangea punches you got for a really long time and love them. I'm on a real flower kick lately anyway. I'm sure you'll love all the things you got at Michaels. It looks like some great choices.

My newest goodies for stamping/cardmaking have not arrived yet, but I expect them any day now. I was so excited this past weekend when I found out that Impression Obsession was having a Memorial Day Sale. I was able to place an order and get the tiny spiral flower dies I've been wanting for months and months along with several other dies that have been on my wish list. I was also able to get two of their Cover a Card background stamps that should be great simple backgrounds that I can use over and over again for years to come. Then, I was thrilled to get to take advantage of Joann.com's free shipping and half price sale to get a few more little Punch Bunch punches for making flowers along with a Penny Black stamp set and two more of my favorite Stampendous Jumbo Cling stamp sets. And I can't leave out my husband's contribution... he saw the Michaels coupon for 50% off Spellbinders dies this week. I didn't think they'd have any that I wanted, but we went to look anyway and I was thrilled to find 3 of the newer sets (at least to me) that I've been wanting for months. And last, but not least, Hobby Lobby had 50% off on some of their stamps so I picked up a few there and also found that they now carry spools of baker's twine so I was able to get my first two colors with my 40% off coupons. It has been like Christmas in May this week!! So, when my new goodies arrive I'll have to enjoy using them for a good LONG time before I can shop again! I'm thinking maybe around Black Friday weekend if I'm lucky! LOL!

  10. Most recent purchases are a single stamp with and old fashion "tricycle" type bike on it with some type above and below the image. Looks an old fashioned newspaper ad. Also got some grunge paper to use in my Big Shot and a packet of words stickers by Tim Holtz. All purchased at Hobby Lobby yesterday.

Placed an order last week at Joann.com with a $25 gift card my SIL gave me for my birthday. Bought a bunch of Distress Stains, a few Adirondack acrylic paint daubers and some mini misters! Best of all it was all ON SALE!! And I used a special code offered over Memorial Day weekend to get a special .10 cent shipping charge! SCORE!

  13. Can't wait til the battery is charged to see what you made with that little lot!

My favourite new purchase has to be the quilt pattern stamp from WPlus9 - really versatile - I just keep going back to it.

    1. Unfortunately, I ended up selling that stamp because I had a hard time using it on clean-and-simple cards, but I did write a series of posts on using big background stamps. You'll find the link to the first below, then use the sidebar archives to find the rest from there.

      Hope that helps!
